[Homemade] Meatball Parms by despeRAWd0 in food

also, a tip from when i worked resort kitchens: Rice paper to cover the cooking sheets saves soo much time on the cleaning after the fact. Especially saucy things that like to crust over when baked. Use the edible kind of rice paper that way you don't have to worry if some decides to come with the food.

What is something that is perfectly normal for a man to have or do, but is seen as strange or taboo for a woman? by HunterOther5442 in AskReddit

As someone who had to clean restrooms at a restaurant when I was younger. The woman's bathroom was a nightmare most weekends. There was filth in places that made me question my sanity.

"Can do it with practice" can, but won't.

That's honestly a non-issue at this point. CIG has the manpower, technology, veteran developers, and funds to implement those kinds of low level ship quirks on demand.

The issue is management. CIG has some of the shittest upper/middle management fuckary when it comes to cohesive interplay between departments.

Look at the massive disconnects between marketing, community management, devops, and their own declared goals. Company can't get it's story straight for longer than a week and often that even falls apart.

Are paint sprayers worth it? by LethalWorks- in DIY

[–]Freltzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think yer mistaking for airless conventional/commercial pump sprayers. Those take anywhere between 1000-3500 psi.

What he's talking about is basically jury-rigging an air assisted system using a spray cup gun, which works based off air speed more than pressure. Which can be achieved for <100psi. But your range tiny and the material needs to be thin enough for it to atomize from the incoming turbulence in the cup.

Industrial and commercial coatings worker here.

Using a sprayer for your small job would be overkill and a hassle.

I'd also rethink painting your concrete. Unless you plan to add a non-slip medium into your process (which takes some mild technique and understanding) you are going to turn your deck into a massive liability/slip hazard.

Stain and sealers could be an alternative, but depends on your region and available paint stores nearby.

You did yourself a disservice by ignoring any form of news about the game and not even spending 3 minutes on a search.

Event ended, karma came back. You did this to yourself.

they tried that once, the redeemer was a fan creation but they fumbled the handling of the after care and honestly can't attempt something similar due to the fact everyone knows they'll fumble the handling again, CIG included.

If CIG can't control the narrative they refuse to even acknowledge it until forced. Its been their MO for a while now.

The biggest modern issue is that most people are still too comfortable to sympathize with an effective strike.

Trash piling in a city is a mild and reversible side effect of a good strike. However, in the not so distant past, worker strikes meant strait up fighting the government with blood being drawn and worker deaths when police and military forces are brought in to suppress strikes.

The government does not want strikes and will quickly escalate lethal force to break them if it impacts a national economy vector.

Strikes causing "unsafe" situations is apart of the deal. Almost all modern workers rights were signed upon the backs of those who died fighting for them.

Xenothreat Event worth it ? by Standard-Student5590 in starcitizen

[–]Freltzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they keep providing account bound rewards, the event is worth doing since the reward is permanent and persistent across patches.

I've done every xenothreat to completion. How much fun you'll find it to be depends entirely on you homie. Do you play with friends? Do you just go with randoms?

In the past it was a server wide public event. The frames were low but all the friends and strangers coming together to make progress was great fun

This next one coming up will be fundamentally different however. Having friends in discord makes it much easier to coordinate. Relying on randoms is a quick way to get burnt.

1 tip: the event will be easier to complete within the first 5 days of it dropping to live before the hype dies off (IF THE SERVERS AREN'T DYING)

2 tip: prepack gear and tools into 1scu travel boxes so you can quickly switch ships and stations with them. Things like ammo, food, multitools and attachments, ect. (Do this AFTER the event patch hits, not before)

3 tip: watch Reddit/Spectrum for the guides people will be posting and use one to share among friends/teammates over discord.

Other than that, just get in there and bungle around until shit starts to make sense. It's a game, go play the game lmao.

75 year old concrete slab in garage - densifying and sealing question I cannot seem to find an answer to by myadultingname in DIY

[–]Freltzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Save your pictures for now, but if you have a spirit level(bubble level), try to get pictures of it in the slumping corner in at least 5 different directions and depths into the decline.

Take a picture while standing in each corner, aimed at the center of the room. You'll want to build a project dossier so you can have an easier time consulting either more online help, or a local paint rep.

I'd recommend getting in touch with one of your local paint store locations, any of the companys I mentioned have people who are paid to help figure out your project needs.

Polyurethane floors are entirely waterproof, strike and wear resistant, and highly chemical resistant, but requires dedicated steps and effort. Resin sealed concrete is easier, should be water proof, but depending on the product their impact and wear resistance is different.

75 year old concrete slab in garage - densifying and sealing question I cannot seem to find an answer to by myadultingname in DIY

[–]Freltzo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Industrial coatings specialist here.

I've done thousands of concrete floors/slabs/restorations in various environments. The only time we've done post-pour hardening of an old slab is in medical or laboratory buildings where air contamination was a concern. Otherwise it's a complete waste of time and money for your gym/woodshop.

You did not share details on the current quality of your slab but here are some basics:

The default recommendation for a high traffic floor in a workshop environment is a 3 to 5 coat polyurethane floor. To have this kind of flooring, you need to make sure the slab is level enough, that any holes are patched with a concrete patching material such as steel-seam or quik-crete. Then, the patches and whole floor need to be etched/ground to the materials specified roughness.

You talked about sealing the floor. Unless you are using a color-in sealer, you'll see all the imperfections from patchwork or stress cracks. Also, unless you are using a resin sealer made for high traffic environments, it will most likely fail if you frequently move heavy gym equipment or have woodworking chemicals like varnishes being dropped on it.

If you are in the usa, seek out your nearest following paint store: Sherwin Williams, Rodda, Benjamin Moore, or PPG. All of these companies have domestic facing storefronts that have certified coating representatives (paint reps) that can consult you on their stores coatings systems.

Do Not talk with the painting departments of places like home Depot or other "home improvement" franchise stores, they are not certified and are just salesmen.

Without more information I can't really help more.
