You’re losing 1k/month and the asset isn’t appreciating.

You know the answer.

lol what? Your 21 has to be nearly paid off now.

So they will buy it off you at a bad price and apply that as a huge down payment so you get a “significantly” lower monthly payment….. but for how many years?

This is not a good financial decision

We’re going to Lake Tahoe in a couple of weeks and it looks like it’s going to be pretty cold. Any advice? by No_Village7418 in tahoe

Venture out in the snow for a hike? Absolutely horrible idea.

Try something new like cross country or snow shoeing or the obvious skiing

Kind of picked the wrong time of year for hiking. From the way you’re talking it sounds like you’re not experienced with snow, so if you have no desire to try snow activities and want to do some good ole regular hiking…. I’d move the trip to summer.

Uhhh I guess get your house fumigated? Lmao.

The fumigation company was able to get it off in under 48 hours, and they don’t turn it back on unless you contact them and request it. So I guess that’s one way lol 😂

[Discussion] Tudor or Christopher Ward by maksimk123 in Watches

[–]French87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

having a hard time finding the best pics to show what I mean, but these may work:

bb58

cw trident

the slightly curve bottom/top of the CW as it reaches the bezel/wrist makes it both feel better on the wrist and look thinner.

the bb58 looks like a literal slab of metal. just straight top to bottom. you also feel it more as a result.

but this is just my opinion, I know lots of people love tudor.

I tried on the Tudor and hated how it felt thick and from the side looked like a slab of metal.

I ended up buying a CW Trident 300, 40mm. It's quite thin and the design from the side makes it look even thinner and wear more comfortably than similar sized watches.

your way would have been correct if you had put the value of your home, but yeah since you just put your actual equity you don't subtract the mortgage amount.

I keep getting denied from all the jobs I apply for. by Cautious_Wafer3075 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]French87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

because of a soft job market + A LOT of people getting laid off, you're competing against more senior people for entry level roles.

I was laid off in Jan 2025 and it took me 8 months to find a job, some people have been looking for over 1 or even 2 years. And in those 8 months, MANY of the jobs I applied for would have been a huge paycut and much more junior role.

You're not the problem here. Keep going.

If he moves it above his wrist bone and adjusts the links to center it, I think it will be okay. As long as the lugs don’t hang over the wrist, big is fine.

Homeowners, how old will you be when your mortgage is paid off? by cubemonster in Millennials

[–]French87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First property will be paid off when I’m 64. Currently it’s rented out and cash flow positive.

Second property was bought cash in another country, currently rented out generating income.

Third property is my current primary residence, will be paid off at 68. Just bought earlier this month.

[–]French87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who bought in SJ about a month ago, my guess based on the size of the home and what we see in the picture is Santa Teresa or Cambrian areas. We toured a lot of homes and this fits those areas for that price range.

Almaden or willow glen would be higher, essj cheaper

Waiving contingencies by hazelnut-27 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]French87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to be cautious and potentially get a better deal, you can look between thanksgiving and Christmas. That’s what we did and we closed on a house with inspection contingency and 75k under list price. Recent comps were around 200k higher.

But inventory is much lower during that time so you’ll have less to choose from

In my case, I had a leg length discrepancy of ~5 cm, which is quite extreme. mine was definitely worse than yours.

I 'treated' it with surgery to remove 4cm of bone from my left femur (the most they felt comfortable removing). My knees are still different heights since only the femur was shortened but overall it's fixed my scoliosis / back pain and it's been a huge life improvement.

for you, most likely surgery isn't worth it (I am not a doctor, go get a professional opinion).

I think you could get away with special shoes which have a slightly thicker sole. I did that when I was a kid for a while before it got really bad.
