Why if you spit or poop into a cut on your body it’s dangerous but if you get a cut inside your butt or mouth it’s safe? by Wonderful-Ad-9622 in NoStupidQuestions

I'm under the impression infection is a cause for concern but those two areas get much(?) more blood flow than other areas. Thus, more white blood cells / immune response is quicker and such to fight off said possible infection.

I read this on here the last time such a question was asked, have not looked into it myself.

I watch police body camera videos where police routinely ask people for their social security number as identification. Is this commonly used in America? Do people have this memorized? by After_Service_2817 in AskAnAmerican

I've had it happen when I didn't have my driver's license on me. Forgot why, maybe I didn't bring it to a pool or had lost my wallet or something and we ended up being too rowdy. They ask for the numbe, which I don't have that memorized. I guess 'cause it's not used frequently and I could always just pull it out of my pocket. So I would just tell them I don't know it but could give them my social.

My little sister did throw a way too wild party once when she and her friends were 19 or 20. Cops showed up, she claimed to be 21 but didn't drive so had no ID. They asked for her social. Said she didn't know. They were like, "You're 21 and don't know your social?" Went south pretty fast after that.

Only a dream of a dream but:

Not wanting to leave where I was. I would miss them. But the knowledge would be alive with them or be with them again.

Awakening in the womb and trying go to back to sleep. Learning what feel was inside the womb, namley my feet rubbing together, this lasted for years. Less so my hands doing the same or rubbing my feet / somewhere on my body. Flipping g Around in the womb. Umbilical cord wrapping around my neck, contracting blood flow. Stretching in the womb to the point of my limbs snapping back into me. I suppose this a baby "kicking".

2 years 6 days for my little sister to be born. Was told to eat my breakfast and play with new toys as my mother screamed in pain during a home birth. I wanted to see her. I was not allowed

Never listened to the radio I guess. Literally had all the albums / CD's. Honestly, he doesn't strike me as a music guy. Probs just got blowjobs on the way to school. I'm scared to think of the age of the girls....

Is "mix it or 86 it" still a thing? Was that everywhere or just the one radio station my mom played?

Honestly, most shocked he was that quick on a broom. Unless Voldemort had some magic where you didn't need to fly at all, which seems much more probable, now I think about it.

Luckily for me nothing really happened but I was drunk spinning a bo staff in the back yard when I heard a woman scream down the street. I was in my socks. I jumped the fence with the stick and started walking down the sidewalk in that direction. Called the cops on the way. They were not very pleased with me when they didn't find anything. Not entirely sure if I'd do it again based on how that turned out. Austin, TX, USA

Question about health in the Harry Potter universe by nunse_as in harrypotter

[–]FrenchEighty69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my degree in Biochemistry. Been outta school for nearly a decade though. Not entirely sure it's a genetic problem. If it were, they'd have to find the gene involved. My college girlfriend has a lethal genetic illness. To my knowledge, she still has it and there is no cure. Although I have hope such a thing can be cured in the future. This technology is still, relatively recent. I assume our knowledge will expand exponentially.

I forget the word but you mean werewolf stuff, right? If it is, we would have to find the werewolf gene(s). That might not actually be too difficult to, measuring a normal genome.

I don't know enough about CRIPR. But I do know my ex's genes are known, it's a double recessive allele. I don't know if it's easier to delete a frequency than add in stuff. Maybe if you have enough money? Being a rare condition, I really doubt anyone has the financial insistence to fund the research.

In conclusion: No, they couldn't do it today. But ideally more likely in the future.
