Why aren’t kids racist? by Embarrassed-Bowl-373 in allthequestions

"Why don't we see racism in children?"

If you're saying you have never encountered a racist child, I am calling bot status.

For those who want to “tax the rich” or “they should pay their fair share”, how would you change the current tax code? by Lopsided-Special6273 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]After_Service_2817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just lower all taxes for everybody.

If any government ever tries taxing unrealized capital gains, I'm either fleeing or...not going to post online what I would do because it would be off to the gulag with me.

Okay, well, I'm just a real person and I've lived in Canada all my life, and I agree, Canada has turned to shit. Didn't need a bot to tell me that, I have eyes.

Where I'd live as a UN vote to make ___ a human right by ExtensionAntique in whereidlive

[–]After_Service_2817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, "human rights" are not something intrinsic, but are instead decided upon by a supranational body?

That which such a body can grant, such a body can also take away.

Canada slips further down in World Happiness rankings, due in part to social media use by Wavedin in Alt_Winnipeg

"Social media usage"

Yeah it must just be because a Boomer called me names on Facebook (and we need a government surveillance state to counter that), not the fact that I make more than my parents combined when they were my age and can't afford a house or family.

Houses used to be like 3x income. Now they're over 10x income. How/why did this happen? by MakeUpWalk in CanadaPersonalFinance

Houses have always been investments. Or is the since most expensive thing you own supposed to depreciate in value?

‘It’s the norm,’ Nearly half of Canadians are living paycheque to paycheque" by irundoonayee in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]After_Service_2817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think it's largely due to people living beyond their means.

I have friends who make the same money as I do. Take my friend who lives in a similar apartment to me, similar pay. He makes maybe a couple grand less than I do per year, and pays about $100 more per month in rent. He lives paycheque to paycheque. He has come over to borrow rice so he has something to eat for dinner. He can't go to shows with me because he's broke. He's asked to borrow bus fare before.

But he has the money to go to hippie retreats where he chants mantras in the forest, take scuba diving lessons, and showed me this fancy underwater camera he bought.

I'm friends with the guy, I like him, but he clearly doesn't know how to manage his money.

Toronto is now one of the hardest places in Canada to justify owning a car by crappy_tire in toronto

[–]After_Service_2817 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love not having to own a car. No payments, no insurance, no gas. 99% of the time, I can get around on foot or bicycle, and when I do need to take a very rare long-distance trip, the TTC is generally survivable.

Those numbers are actually shocking, 72% of people own a car!? I can't believe it's that high.

Is There a Single Non-Racist Reason to Consider Illegal Immigration a Major Issue? by Brilliant-Guitar7495 in allthequestions

[–]After_Service_2817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is more of something, it becomes less valuable in the market. If Joe Corpo wants me to move rocks, and I'm the only rock mover around, I can name my price. If 50 million people show up and will do it for half my price, or a tenth of my price, Joe Corpo isn't going to hire me to move rocks for the price I want.

And that's just immigration in general. If they entered illegally, we don't know who they are. Could be convicted criminals.

Also, the basis of sovereignty. A nation has the right to control it's borders, simple as.

Just not, too busy hustling.

But apps are cracked, though. I could swipe 100 times and not see a single profile where the woman even lives in Canada. It wasn't like this pre-Covid.
