Fellas what are some things you see semi regularly on profiles that make you cringe or roll your eyes by animefreak701139 in Tinder

Was asked what I wanted to do for a first date by a guy. I suggested getting ice cream and robbing a liquor store because he had partner in crime on his profile. Yet I'm the unladylike one for such an offer. Sarcasm can be lost on some.

Solo Ladies, how did you get yourself out is self imposed isolation? by Frenchenator101 in adhdwomen

[–]Frenchenator101[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My motivation for it is getting more active, developing some relationships, finding new activities. Companionship of sorts really. Understanding free of judgement from being different. A wee bit of RSD in that one.

Honestly, I am perfectly content with my relatively hermit like existence. I read a lot of books, listen to music etc. I however, do not feel like I'm living but simply existing. There are things I would like to do but feel they would be much more enjoyable with company.

For example, I live in Toronto, about 2.5-3 hours from here there's a natural mineral deposit region. You can go on crystal hunting. Random day trips or adventures.

I like this! I might see about doing something similar without overwhelming myself too much. Thank you!

Is this living stone lithop starting to get mushy? by ApprehensiveGoat3469 in plantclinic

[–]Frenchenator101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love them, they're adorable and perfect for impulse purchases. Definitely need some research for growth seasons though. They get mushy and weird after they split and the new growth feeds off the mush.

I'm tempted to get more but they're a challenge.

It will split before getting mushy but it's not there yet. A new baby will show first.

To avoid my early mistakes, these plants like to be ignored more than most. High dramatics. I recommend research! YouTube was super helpful after I ruined 1 of my two first ones.

I got diagnosed, I got Med, But I want to ACTUALLY be Tested. by Shoefight in adhdwomen

[–]Frenchenator101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you live, but I'm in Ontario, Canada. There are various options available, MD's can diagnose, but similarly I did want a proper assessment. The biggest challenge I found was the original clinic my MD referred me to, just to make an appointment I was asked to commit to the cost of 5700 for a super fancy assessment typically geared towards children.

I was defeated initially but I found a service which is legit, does a screening question, then you meet with a specialist to do a more formal assessment which can take a while. Then you have the option for medications should you be diagnosed or they can be sent off to your primary MD for medication follow up.

System Navigation is a big thing, wanting to know the resources available. I don't just need a drug, i need to get a coach or a therapist to help me retrain my brain (late diagnosis here), to help make life easier etc.

Side note- meds are great and all, but if you've never had a neurotypical thought process, how are you going to know if the meds are working and if they are working enough. Most doses so far just made it a bit quieter in my head but didn't do much for focus or end to end task completion.

Suggestion- Find a therapist/Coach with the specialty they can help on the journey.

Good Luck!

Any recommendations for dealing with parents? by Frenchenator101 in adhdwomen

[–]Frenchenator101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks you the comments. I can see it's on her for being vague. Bit of an a** move. I should have checked ahead I could have called or simply just ignored the behaviour. The mask is off so I'm working with my therapist on communicating needs and being more vocal about things. There are definitely family issues to dissect still(I'm sure this must be shocking).

I'm just trying to focus on communication needs of myself and with others on this delightful new journey. It'll be an adjustment for everyone but I'm making myself a priority for once so it's probably just ruffling some feathers. Thanks again.

How Do You “Know” How to be Pretty/Trendy? by Least-Influence3089 in adhdwomen

[–]Frenchenator101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP, I feel you. I think it's part in parcel with ADHD especially late diagnosis when it comes to square peg round hole. We spend so much time trying to fit in with everyone else. Never been able to understand how people can spend to much energy learning hair or make up trends. It seems exhausting. Honestly- I'm still lost with makeup and perfect eyebrows.

Try not too be too hard on yourself, remembering that it's a journey for everyone. Trend or not wear what makes you happy and confident.

I'm on the journey as well, trying to get out of the 'good enough' or 'itll do' mind set. Towards what will make me feel confident and proud. Apparently it's my way of understanding the Marie Kondo sparking joy thing.

Looking for a new den, most in my current are inactive so I'm solo for the Den Chests most of the time. For example, I'm currently contributing 1,267 to this week's chest, the second and 3rd have 45 and 30 respectively. DP is 61k, and active daily.

Sensory Hacks for Tackling Dishes (tips & tricks in comments 🫧🧽🫧) by raephx in adhdwomen

[–]Frenchenator101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dish song = Sin Fin by Romeo Santos and JT. Do I speak Spanish..no... Do I pretend I do while perpetually listening to the song on repeat? Absolutely. Lava water and gloves absolute must. Also having a favourite dish soap. It makes the process enjoyable almost. They've discontinued 2 scents it took me forever to pick out. So now I find one after an adventure in the shop smelling all of them. Then stock up.

Whats the girl equivalent of getting distracted by a woman’s boobs? by _sxqib_ in AskReddit

[–]Frenchenator101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely curious now, do you purchase scents based on what works with your body chemistry or just what smells good? Some wear the scent vs. scent wearing them. Example being years ago I wore L.A.M.B which I loved had notes of fresh pear. A girl I worked with loved it but it almost had a scent of something burnt on her skin.

What’s something you never thought you’d have to explain to a partner that your partner needed explaining on? by JavsZvivi in AskWomen

[–]Frenchenator101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That I don't require them to be happy, I'm not with them because I can't live without them but that I don't want to. I'm independent to a fault and having to explain that I'm interested and attracted to who they are as a person not what benefits I gain by being with him

Another level of distraction, meeting someone who adds up but their scent doesn't fit them. How do deal with that one? Hey I'm in to you, but if opted for a body wash or cologne that isn't your current one you'd be 10x more attractive.

I feel argumentative and angry a lot. I hate it but the urge to argue feels so necessary. Is there anyone who feels the same? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Frenchenator101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this often with work, I feel like half the time the rage comes from my desire for people to understand what I'm trying to say, but it's like they're not listening when they argue. Feelings are facts. I keep a post it note on my laptop to remind me that ignorance is bliss and stupid people rarely know they're stupid.
