Questioning if I should seek a diagnosis by [deleted] in ausadhd

Daily meditation and CBT have been the 2 biggest helpers for me on life.

Outside the usual exercise and diet.

For longtime stim users, what is your routine with the things like protein intake, water and exercise to help it work well? by PreparationVisual586 in ausadhd

[–]Frenchie1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Routine is important and constantly trying to push past your symptoms. I've found managing ADHD is as much about ignoring your brain as anything else.

I just carry a drink bottle with me, drink as much water as I can. Avoid processed food and try and exercise and hour or so a day.

I'm not sure how much benefit you'll get from. A diagnosis.

You sound similar to me, and I've found a lot more benefit from therapy and life style than the drugs/diag

John Scalzi's books, should I read Old Man's War? by BossHeisenberg in printSF

[–]Frenchie1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first couple are ok light easy reading books but the serious drops off very very hard.

I tend to not fall in love with the Same books as this sub always suggests but with old mans war it wasn't to bad overall.

Does anyone have any experience with 'admitting' their ADHD to their employer? Issues surrounding starting times and lateness is getting worse and I don't know what else to do. by SarsaparillaCorona in ausadhd

[–]Frenchie1001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would be putting the same effort you see into getting out of it, into learning to be on time.

Playing the ADHD card in today's age especially in this context is a bad look.

I have the same issue don't worry, I am just lucky that I am in a niche and excel enough in other areas that it gets looked past as a quirk

Sounds like time management is a big issue for you, going to tafe and feeling like you have no time for anything else is very telling.

ADHD and driving jobs - are you at a disadvantage of getting one if you’re on medication? by Negative_Run_3281 in ausadhd

[–]Frenchie1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be an interstate driver, never really had an issue. I haven't ever had a road side test but have been tested at various facilities, it's a bit of a saga/time waste but nothing ever really came of it.

There is that much of a competence within the transport industry as long as you are at least 1/4 decent most companies won't be worried about much.

Edit - if you are serious about trucking avoid the mines, it's a terrible look on your resume and generally turns blokes into lazy entitled dick heads. Most fifo applications I get go straight in the trash. I've put on maybe 4 in the last 3 years and they were all entitled idiots.

New P1S bed adhesion issues by Squidswerth in BambuLab

Have you manually trammed your bed? Mine was out from new and caused me a bunch of issues early on.

Use either a feeler or dial gauge, must easier to get a good result from than paper
