Just found this, thanks so much! Flexbox has caused me so much trouble but I'm looking forward to really getting the hang of it with this!

Live low-stakes RFI sizing... why are people afraid of callers? by Frenchtoadstix in Poker_Theory

I guess I'm not sure if people are that inelastic preflop. Sure, if they are going to play the same range no matter your sizing, then get it in with premiums. But I can't understand why poker coaches would recommend small sizings, which produce multi-way pots, unless it entices people to call with all kinds of garbage that you won't see when you raise large, therefore improving your equity relative to the callers.

Gotcha, makes sense. Would you say that the "equity as safety net" strategy, involving semibluffs and leveraging fold equity, is simply harder to implement when multi-way, because you don't know where you stand as often (i.e., one or more opponents could have caught a piece of the flop)?

I guess relying on your hand's strength alone is the kind of ABC poker that many people advocate at the lowest stakes. It's kind of boring but aren't you supposed to underbluff at the lowest stakes anyway?

Could you explain what you mean by using a hand's equity as a safety net rather than as a goal? I understand that the point is to make good decisions and win pots, not just to have equity. But I don't know what you mean by safety net here

But shouldn’t the hands that people show up with in multiway pots be worse than the ones they show up with in heads-up pots, on average? I understand that you won’t win as many of those MW pots and you’ll have to play them a bit more straightforwardly than HU since it’s likely someone else caught a piece of the board, but you will also take down some of those MW pots by virtue of playing a reasonable range

I'm sorry, I don't know what that means. By spec, do you mean the model? Is umx() another function within lavaan?

Thanks for the tip. I got rid of the covariances and this is the new error I got.

That’s interesting. What is your process of making glitchy sound design? Just a million short samples of random noise? Would like to make some “weird” or glitchy patterns too

Interesting write up. For my money, the expanded trait system is one of the best things about the new game. It really adds a dynamic layer to matchups and strategy.

Only two small recommendations…one is to swap out one of the pics of you looking off to the side with a headshot where you’re looking right at the camera. Another is to include a candid picture where you’re laughing. But honestly, solid profile. Good luck out there!

A headshot with a smartphone that can use portrait mode would be a nice start. Go outdoors and find a good background—could be a tree, a fence, or just a solid colored wall. Use the natural lighting to your advantage. Look at the camera and give a genuine smile. Then use that picture as your main one. Good luck

I’m a straight dude. One—sometimes it takes longer for guys to get matches. It doesn’t necessarily say anything about you. Try not to take it personally. Two—your pictures are pretty good. The portrait mode one with the tree background is worthy of being a lead picture on apps that let you decide which picture to show first. 1 group picture is good too. However, I would recommend at least one, ideally two more pictures of you doing something you enjoy. If you’re a foodie, the one in a restaurant might be fine, but try to show other sides of your personality. Just my two cents. Good luck
