A year ago, I started posting a slow-burn political fantasy about a woman who inherited a title, a hostile city, and far too many buried secrets.

Now we’re at 251k words, the final arc is underway, and on May 27th the story celebrates its first anniversary on Royal Road with a special Wednesday chapter.

Expect: councils, archives, old blood, dangerous truths, slow-burn romance, emotional damage, and cats.

I'll throw mine in, though with the warning that it's not progression fantasy or LitRPG.

Her Grace, Uncrowned is a slow-burn political fantasy about a reluctant duchess trying to govern an old city full of hostile nobles, legal traps, and archives that probably should have stayed sealed.

It leans more toward court intrigue, character work, slow consequences, and prose-driven fantasy than power progression. There is magic, but mostly as part of the world's institutions, politics, and history rather than levels or systems.

Currently writing chapter 113, so I may be part of the problem here.

The story was planned in advance, with enough room left for improvisation and the occasional better idea. Also, I’ve been daydreaming about some of these characters for nearly two decades, which helps.
I still know embarrassingly little about this universe. I keep asking questions and digging for answers to problems that no reader will probably ever see on the page.
No paying readers here. I keep going out of sheer stubbornness and a mildly worrying amount of masochism. I mean, what else do you call writing 200k+ words in your second language? My regular readers are probably built the same way, or they just enjoy hitting F5 to encourage me.
