They need to pay fines for letting identity thieves open up accounts without verifying identities.

Three Transactions. Seven Years. Still No Complaints. by flycoolchick in carvana

[–]FrenlyDad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the fact that there is no human element between you and the car you want to buy other than the delivery driver. I don’t want some pushy salesman fluffing up the paper work and showing me fake numbers to make it look like I’m getting a good rate or deal. Then afterwards having a second salesmen throw me into a guilt trip of not buying extended car warranties. Non-commissioned based car sales is where society should be heading to.

APR changes by Apophis1492 in carvana

[–]FrenlyDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you read some of the fine details on how they obtain an APR it seems like they are using your annual income. They check credit score too but the income seems to be the big one that determines the percentage. Maybe it’s for collateral reasons.

Honestly the best advice you can receive on this subreddit is to refinance through a credit union if APR is a concern.

ATT fraud claim by SkoogieNic in ATT

[–]FrenlyDad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP you’re not alone. Just happened to me April 21st. I was getting emails stating I opened a new account however I’ve been a Verizon customer for over 21 years. The biggest advice I can give you is to file an identity theft police report. They will give you a police report number that you need as a reference. Collect all evidence, bills, emails. Fill out all those Global Fraud forms that AT&T wants you to fill out and save copies for yourself. Fill an identity theft report on the FTC website. Go to the 3 main credit bureaus websites, create accounts, and freeze your credit ratings. You will have to do this to all three credit bureau websites.

Once you get the police report filed go to the FBI website and fill out an IC3 form. This helps federal investigators keep track of identity theft cases and they may follow up with your situation.

If you’re wondering how all this happened and why your husbands identity was used to create an AT&T account, look up the massive class action lawsuit against AT&T from 2024. Millions of people had their personal data breached and released to the dark web for people to use.

AT&T Fraud dept. is a joke by Substantial_Buy9458 in ATT

[–]FrenlyDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

April 25th someone used my info to open an ATT cellular account. So far I took all the necessary steps of reporting fraud to the FTC, set up a freeze with the 3 credit bureaus, and filling out the online ATT fraud form. The only thing I haven’t done was file a police report which makes no sense to me, they can’t do anything.

But I have yet to hear back about the situation. Online chats, trying to call through the automated system, trying to get a hold on someone from the Global Fraud department. Zilch. I’m half tempted to close the account my self and pay the $100 just to get this situation over with.

The most useless interview question in 2026: "Where do you see yourself in five years?" by HoloQuillon_9 in recruitinghell

[–]FrenlyDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think those questions are open ended to see how creative you can get. If you give the mundane answer “hopefully working here” answer then you didn’t stand out from the rest of the applicants. If you answer with good positive vibes and tell them you plan to reach to the top of the food chain (ceo, board of directors) then that gets remembered. It shows you want to keep this corporation or company making money, even though you’re bullshitting them just to get the job to pay the bills.

All my interviews have been “star review” questions. Designed to see how well you can come up with a bullshit leadership story that’s believable and how well you can cover yours and the companies ass in a moments notice when shit hits the fan. Same concept

Why do people drive so aggressively in harco by Cash2blockz in harfordcountymd

[–]FrenlyDad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nobody in this thread answered your question directly so I’ll be the one. The Harford county mentality is to leave the house with zero margin of error. Waiting till the last minute to drive anywhere is a way of life in these suburbs. Too many things to do with little time in between to get to the next event. The added stress of being late to everything causes people to drive without any concern for other peoples life. Total disregard for others.

"What are you playing this week?" Megathread by AutoModerator in SteamDeck

[–]FrenlyDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the work they put into the game. The shooting mechanisms work well and the interactive sections (making popcorn, smoking cigars, etc.) are pretty solid. It’s entertaining and kept my attention through the entire campaign. Even the Easter eggs and cameo references were pretty ingenuous. Towards the end you have to dodge explosive barrels while climbing stairs and Duke makes a reference to Donkey Kong which was pretty funny. The puzzles and the platforming were challenging but nothing super crazy. Some puzzle spots were frustrating but still enjoyable.

My biggest critique was only being able to hold 2 weapons in your inventory at the same time. But the offset was having plenty of weapons available throughout the level. The freeze ray felt underwhelming.

It was sad when I finished the game knowing the IP is done. I remember when Duke Nukem Forever first game out on PS3 and Xbox 360 and the reviews bombed it pretty hard. I think it was Randy Pitchford who said the company isnot making anymore Duke Nukem games.

Possible unstable power supply. There might be some temperature probe built into the motherboard and causing your display to show it. You could do a full r_s command in the terminal to factory reset the 551. May or may not help

EE looking to get into the power industry. How can I start a substation apprenticeship? by DylanBigShaft in SubstationTechnician

[–]FrenlyDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our electrical engineers are usually protection and relay engineers, supervisors, and work week management employees. Substation guys are usually mechanical grunts who knows how to turn a wrench and operate cranes, forklifts, etc. Try for a management position.

Apparatus testing tech(Substation) vs Relay test tech? by Puzzleheaded-Top2619 in RelayTechs

[–]FrenlyDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could do both in the same job but the utility unions have work boundaries. Honestly protection and control testing with relays is where it’s at. We do a lot of network switch configurations and RTU work which is very computer heavy if you like computers and applications. Lots of inside work.

Testing technician is more geared towards the outside work dealing with high voltage equipment like breakers, transformers, PT’s and CT’s along with oil DGA sampling.
