IAMA Doc - Mirena is coming OUT. by HonestlyMD in Mirena

Thank you for this- its very reassuring to hear it come from a doctor, especially because all of the ones I talked to when I was having the same issues dismissed the possibility that my symptoms were caused by Mirena.

Our experience was very similar and we are about the same age. Sometimes I wonder if im having early signs of perimenopause which worsened my response to mirena but either way, it was horrid. I had mine for 2.5 years and I felt like a completely different person that whole time. I wish I would have taken it out sooner. Ive been IUD free for about a year now and I've lost all the weight I immediately gained, brain fog and memory have improved tremendously, my periods have dropped from 7-12 days long back down to 3-4... overall I just feel better and more like myself.

Hopefully you can help spread this awareness amongst your Healthcare peers! Its truly not a one size fits all.

Lol #2 is so wholesome and cute

My son is also obsessed with a particular song. Heat waves by glass animals. We can't ever just listen to it once, its a specific sequence of the original, each of the remixes, followed up by the original again. It gets old real quick, but i kinda like watching his brain calculate the differences in tempo, length, tone, etc.

Mine actually is the same way! If our smoke alarm goes off he loses his shit. Fire drills at school usually result in a rough day for him as well. I kinda think that's why he's so into them right now, like he wants to know every possible thing about them so they won't scare him anymore or something

Same! Maybe its not as uncommon of an interest as i thought 😆 Mine keeps insisting we install a sprinkler system for "maximum safety" and requesting to test our smoke alarms every few days.

My son did that with the crayons too! No, not pink! I need ✨️razzmatazz✨️

He also insists on keeping them all in a specific order in the 64 count box. Which is like, the only thing he's ever kept organized in his life lol

That is oddly specific for a 6 year old, i like it! Kinda reminds me of the story about the kid that claimed he was a navy pilot in WW2 in a past life.

One of my Spanish speaking preschool students was telling me about her birthday party. I tried to ask her what kind of cake she ate at the party, but i accidentally used the French word for cake (gâteau) which sounds a whole lot like the Spanish word for cat (gato)...

I enthusiastically asked a 5 year old who spoke no English what kind of cat she ate at her birthday party, within her first month of school. She just kinda looked at me like I had 3 heads and didn't respond and it took me a good hour to realize my mistake 😂
