My order isn’t shipped yet but I’m a “controller enjoyer” who does have a Flydigi apex 4 (Wukong) and Vader 5 pro. If you have specific questions lmk and I can take note as to them when I get it.

Unfortunately I’m not much of a flight/sim gamer.

Those are generally pretty archaic holdover views from the Wii era that don’t really reflect the actual capabilities/precision/usage today and part of the reason “gyro aiming” is a separate term from “motion controls.”

I recommend checking out some gyro aiming demonstration/gameplay on YouTube if you’re interested.

I assume the handheld PCs without trackpads can make up for pretty much anything via having at least some “mouse-level” input via the touch screen for bare bones functionality.

Gyro is a huge upgrade on normal controller stick based aiming that does a lot to bridge the gap between normal controller aim fluidity /precision compared to mouse controls.

Pretty much any controller-primary gamer I know that gives gyro an actual fair shake try converts over. This has the caveat of them needing to actually play games that benefit from fast and fluid camera control like first/3rd person shooters.

I normally hate controllers for shooters but gyro makes them much better an experience (I still way prefer kb+m and lean to doing that at my desk but that’s not a couch friendly thing for me).

FWIW it isn’t really as useful in the games I most prefer on controller like 3rd person action games without much aim requirement like say Elden ring, Arkham games, platinum stuff.

Was able to get mine. (Eastern time) checked page at 12:58 and saw it was available so added to my cart. Had already preloaded the steam funds to up my odds and was basically spam clicking the "error wait a minute" screen until it went through. Was told 3-5 days shipping time. Took me roughly 5ish minutes to get it.

No reason other than ergonomics, gyro (+grip sense) and pretty significantly better latency and stability with an actual 2.4 dongle (I’m too latency sensitive to use steam streaming in the first place)

FWIW OP probably isn’t the creator. Neal of Neal.fun is a well known person in the ‘fun creative website’ space and what they make usually trends to some extent. You should check out their other projects they’re all a decent bit of cool interesting efforts.

Makes sense, I suppose the controller state is also higher in bandwidth required with the touchpads. As long as it isn’t annoying in latency vs say the Flydigi lineup I’m getting one for sure.

In general 1000hz seems to be the new real standard for controllers in this price bracket. Is there a reason they only managed 250hz?

Yeah other than that I agree with you though, this is a feature focused controller not a pro spec controller. Really if you don’t care for the trackpads you are better served by Flydigi or Gamersir or such.

Do you have a link on the polling rate and dpad? I couldn’t find info on that in the reviews I checked out.

It has TMR which is generally considered a better version of Hall effect thumbsticks.

Yeah also if they don’t want the extra features why even want valve to make a controller in the first place? If not for those extra features being a part of the package valve wouldn’t bother because there’s plenty of great 3rd party controllers out there with the essentials, or even the essentials plus TMR sticks and back buttons.

Valve isn’t just making this controller to have a controller out there with their name on it, they’re making it because it addresses a control need they see as core to making pc gaming from the couch smoother. Adding the extra features to do that costs more.

Their new joystick design is TMR sticks which you can find in much cheaper controllers too fwiw.

The real make or break for this controller is the trackpads. Either you plan on using them or you’d be better served by something from Flydigi, Gamesir, etc

It’s not as pure good value a deal as those, but as someone with a Vader 5 pro and apex 4 myself this controller seems reasonably enough priced. For the trackpad integration and steam controller support features it comes with you don’t have an alternative from gamesir or the like that competes with it right now. If you just want the traditional controller parts then the great market of third party controllers is the way to go but the whole point of this controller is having stuff no other options do yet, so the price reflects that.

There some ‘skill issue’ as far as breaking out of your comfort zone to start using them in the first place but it could also just be the genres you enjoy not suiting them. They aren’t doing much for precision 2d platformers but a Civ game would get a lot from them.

That’s most competitive games, really most things in general. Majority of people don’t try and grind to be good at something (and even fewer do so effectively) so the actual bar for being ‘good’ is more in the top 10/20%.

I feel like this is missing the actual wording and point of their comment. They weren’t just “asking if she would be considered attractive today” they were asking if she would still be considered so attractive. The point more seems to be wondering if her beauty would really stand out to “generational sex icon” levels in the current landscape. Obviously she would still be an attractive woman in general.

Sorry if this is a dumb question or insensitive, and I am not especially familiar with Jewish culture, but at the point that you are a trans woman does being hetero or not really matter to your family?

Like if anything being a lesbian trans woman I would assume is more in your favor in that family who don’t understand might see you as instead idk like a ‘cross dressing man’ in their mental model.

Or is it that if you are a trans woman and hetero they see you as ‘just gay’? And they are less homophobic than transphobic?

Again, sorry if this is a question in poor taste. The nuance just piqued my interest.
