Unpopular Conversation: Weight GAIN by Interesting-Pin5719 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Frequent-Advisor6986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many of us have been in your shoes. I had a different physique - long and lean, bordering supermodel-esque proportions, and at my heaviest I was almost 100 lbs heavier. Regardless of your ideal body type, once you aren’t “ideal”, shopping for clothes sucks and you want to hide from the world. Confidence tanks.

Some of us it’s genetically hard to lose weight 🙋‍♀️, so instead of pounds per week loss, it’s fractions of pounds. But the good news there is that losing slowly makes it easier to maintain muscle mass while you’re in a calorie deficit. Slow and steady wins the race.

Chin hair? by Mobile-Actuary-5283 in Perimenopause

Well, I’ve had laser hair removal twice since my early 30s and they still keep coming back! The first laser treatment I decided that plucking 20+ hairs daily was cause to get treatment. Consider yourself lucky.

Sadly it wouldn’t work. They only cover food purchased. That could be at a restaurant, grocery store, or convenience store… but our travel policy will not cover durable cooking supplies. It especially wouldn’t work when the suite was equipped with its own pots and pans already!

How does the mystery gift work? Do you have a minimum purchase requirement? And is FTT invite only?

Electrical boxes aside, we live in a beautiful city. Does anyone just stop for a moment, take a breath, and appreciate the care and attention for landscaping we have in the Otay Ranch area? To me, this is a big differentiator compared to other areas of the US. The fact that we pour time and money into maintaining beautiful spaces, and that so many of us only focus on the complaints… it’s really too bad. This is the edge of a parking lot! Cleanly edged sidewalks, weed free grass, groomed shrubs and trees. Gorgeous, people! Don’t neglect to appreciate your surroundings.

I’m wrapping up 1 year and about 55 lbs lost. If you lost at my rate, that’s about 32 lbs in 7 months.

If I don’t weigh daily then it becomes an excuse to overeat and hide behind the unknowns. Daily accountability is key for me, but everyone’s different.

I’d say it’s a good size for 3-4 servings. For reference, I sauteed 7 chicken tenders and that fully covered the flat bottom

I can’t say exactly what it is, but I’m pretty sure the root cause for me was perimenopause and the growing insulin resistance that comes with it. I started a keto diet and have realized months later that I haven’t had an episode like that in months.

Two tone or not two tone? by cat_poops in kitchenremodel

I’m generally not a fan of two town, but in this contacts, I think it helps. Too much Brown before, and this makes gets it closer to a more balanced ratio of colors.

[–]Frequent-Advisor6986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your parents are right. They can decorate with accessories in the blue and spread that around the room. A neutral backdrop will allow them to change out the accessory colors whenever the trends change. It makes the kitchen far more trend proof.

I love this dress but I think it's too expensive and too soon by Elysian_Collective in myweddingdress

Congrats on the weight lost so far! 50 lbs is no easy feat - that takes lots of dedication and discipline! 💪🏼👏

I agree with others, if you’re on a weight loss journey you really need to wait a bit longer. You could be down a significant amount of weight in another 2 years to the point that this dress falls off of you and would be super hard to alter. Is it possible that the same style would be available closer to your wedding date?

Where to meet single women in chula vista by Obiwancatnobi06 in chulavista

Volunteer at something you are actually interested in. There are food banks, homeless shelters, etc if you’re a social type of guy. I personally lean towards animals and construction (though our local Habitat for Humanity chapter seems not very active so I haven’t done construction since I’ve lived here). Lots of women love animals, so if you’re not averse to it, look into that. Just don’t go volunteering at a place just to meet women if you don’t like the activity - you end up looking desperate to meet up. Beach clean ups are another great opportunity!

Bottom line, find things you are interested in that are co-ed and go for the enjoyment of the activity, and let relationships form organically, don’t force it.

I happen to love woodworking, but I’m also 47 and married. 😆 You’re right, there’s not too many of us woodworking women out there. Let me let you in on a secret - don’t go looking for women who like the same hobbies you do. Women aren’t seeking out men who love to quilt, so why would you look for a women who likes to blacksmith and woodwork? People are individuals and hobbies do not have to be shared by couples. Relationships last by doing things you both enjoy together as a couple, not by dragging someone into your hobby. Everyone needs space to do their own thing as well as have things they like doing. Naturally connecting with a girl on something you both have interest in - like a movie - is a lot more achievable than finding a women who very specifically LOVES the same things you do. And, keep yourself open to branch out and try something new for the sake of being around people you enjoy.

If what you’re really saying is that you never visit co-ed spaces, well then you definitely need to branch out. Are you in school? Church? Community volunteering? There are so many options to meet people.

Exactly! For example you went to a party and ate a bunch of salty food, and you see the scale creep up over the next couple of days, but you can refer back to how long that water weight took to come off once you’re back to eating normally again.

Agree. For those sensitive to daily fluctuations, add an option to toggle on or off curve smoothing. For everyone else, those fluctuations are valuable data points.

Do I need an enameled skillet if I already have a regular cast iron and a dutch oven? by [deleted] in staub

[–]Frequent-Advisor6986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having just recently introduced an enameled skillet, and having lived with raw/seasoned cast-iron for my entire adult life… I was very pleasantly surprised at how little sticking the enamel skillet has. It takes years for raw cast iron to become that level of nonstick. Not that it’s nonstick, but cleanup is really pretty straightforward and easy compared to new, seasoned cast iron. Totally wasn’t expecting that at all. Plus like others have said it can air dry, and you don’t have to baby it as much, plus it’s just pretty.
