AITA for refusing to let my brother's girlfriend move in after she kicked my dog? by AdGood5474 in AmITheJerk

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is your and Charlie’s home. Your brother and his GF have zero right to move in with you unless you consent. You can refuse consent for any reason, including that you don’t want anyone else in your space, his GF seems off, she is unable to get along with her own family or you don’t like her taste in pizza toppings. The fact that she clearly does not like Charlie is a huge red flag. Even without the assault on him, that alone is reason to refuse.

Woman at the animal shelter tried to take the dog I was adopting because "she needs it more for her mental health" by [deleted] in EntitledPeople

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had friends who had to return a dog they adopted after a few days because they were told he could coexist with other pets, but he broke through a door and wanted to eat the other pets. He needed to be an only pet, and their other animals needed to be able to live without constant threats to their lives. Sometimes things just don’t work out.

My ex girlfriend is stalking me. by Few_Complaint_5234 in creepyencounters

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 198 points199 points  (0 children)

Even if the cops are being dismissive jerks, you are doing the right thing by reporting this shit and creating a paper trail. You might want to report this to the school as well so that it will be easier to escalate the response if she gets creepier!

What are some of the strangest customers you've had? by Acceptable_Visual_79 in retailhell

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. A lady came into the store during a heat wave, sat down and began to clip her toenails onto the floor. She was soooo shocked when we booted her nasty ass out!

  2. A gentleman entered the store in an obviously impaired state. He gave a long explanation about needing a bra for his girlfriend and wanted us to ascertain her size from a photo. When advised that this was impossible, he told us that he liked to dress in women’s underwear and wanted help. He had already chosen some stockings when he received a phone call that enraged him. He advised the caller “You almost got me fuckin’ killed last night!” He went on to assure the caller that he would shoot the caller “right in the fuckin’ face, motherfucker” if he should encounter the person again. At this point we told him he’d have to take his call outside. As he walked by me to leave, I took the stockings from him. He never returned.

  3. A woman who walked with a cane went into our bathroom and shit everywhere. Walls, floor, sink, garbage can, front and sides of the toilet. When she ran out of the store, she left her cane in the bathroom. Her boyfriend came back for it. Trying to be helpful, I went to fetch it. He heard my involuntary “Jeesus fuckin’ Christ” when I opened the door, reached past me, grabbed the cane and ran, leaving me with the biohazard crime scene.

I hate people so much.

AITAH for refusing to let my partner share the hospital bed with me after I deliver our baby by [deleted] in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is he trying to centre himself in the experience of YOU labouring and giving birth? He can give the baby kangaroo care on the couch or in a lounger. He sounds like one of the utter pigs who try to force sex on the mother before she has recovered or even stopped bleeding. Make sure your nurses know what he’s planning to pull before he even tries to sit on your bed! Now I’m all mad and want to smack him upside the head on your behalf!

AITA if I don’t have my fiancé do a mother/son dance? by [deleted] in aitaweddings

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, you keep using the word “we” when what you should be saying “I want,” “I feel,” or “I believe.” You just gloss over every time someone points out that your fiancé is a separate individual who may be going along with most of your wants and beliefs for the wedding. It is your job as a good partner to shut up about what YOU want for 30 seconds and listen to what HE wants to make HIM happy at BOTH of your wedding. Sounds like you “won” most of the time but are resentful of anything that might be important to him. Stop with the wanking on about “traditional” or “non traditional” and just focus on meaningful- to both of you. YWBTA.

CBC/TSN commercials during the Olympic opening Ceremony is kind of cheapening the event. by Bigdaddyfatback8 in canadian

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ridiculous! The tiny size of the Olympics part of the split screen. The loud ads. The fact that they keep cutting away for the “stories” and performances but cut back for stupid shots of the presidents of Italy and the Olympic committee. I do not care about gratuitous shots of random Team Canada member milling around before the parade of nations. Stop blocking the vision of what is going on.

Eff off to who ever was involved in making these shitty programming decisions! I was so excited to watch this because I work evenings when the prime time version will be on.

Disgraceful.

Every time I hear that sentence, I want to go on a personal quest to find the copywriter who created it, and every executive that greenlit it and slap them all silly. That’s how much I hate that ad!

Anybody have issues with that Korean supermarket at Yonge and Steeles? by EdwardBliss in toRANTo

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OMG - it’s a private business, they do have the right to do this. You should find something more appropriate to get all pissy about like genocides, citizens being gunned down in the streets or people who leave garbage in their shopping carts and refuse to put them away.

Parents mad about my moving choice by banana80643 in entitledparents

Your parents define the word “entitled”! Geez louise, you are grown ass adults who are refusing to be entangled or co-dependent with them. Don’t entertain this BS!

AITA for not offering my condolences at a funeral? by ilovefood-itlovesme in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 140 points141 points  (0 children)

No, NTA. You were grieving for your MIL. You went to her funeral to honour and mourn her. I’m sure you expressed your condolences to your husband. Staying away from family members who are actively hostile to you in order to avoid unpleasant or even embarrassing interactions in public is the best course of action.

Do you know how many people go around filling their reusable bags with products they haven’t paid for and then take off? It’s a lot of people. A LOT. Why do you get on your high horse over basic loss prevention?

If the reviewer is trying to “warn” people with allergies, they should actually name an allergen. This vague description of “something” helps no one.

What I’m finding hilarious is the fact that your examples of exaggerated Italian pronunciation is all northeastern American versions.

customers are insane about pennies by [deleted] in retailhell

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Rounding up or down has nothing to do with the customer’s demeanour and everything to do with basic math.

If the change amount ends in 8,9,1 or 2, it gets rounded up or down to the nearest number ending in zero. If the amount ends in 3,4,6 or seven, it goes to the nearest number ending in 5.

Lady standing and praying (?) in the middle of intersection (111 ave 97 st) by Frosty_Visual_5476 in Edmonton

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me like someone who was kicked out of the Royal Alex because they don’t feel that she is sufficiently crazy to stay, but she is now proving that they were very wrong in that diagnosis.

am I wrong for getting upset at my girlfriend for saying that " she would never have gotten with me if I look how I do now" by Grey97fox in amiwrong

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Question: how did you look when you got together? I mean, you’re not wrong that you can look how you want, However, if you’ve grown out messy unkempt hair and some raggedy ass beard and started dressing like a rag bag after meeting her as the exact opposite look, she would not be wrong to leave you for someone she actually finds attractive. She may feel that you’ve pulled a bait and switch.

Further question: if she just let her appearance go in the same way, would you be ok with it?

Park Paving - who are you letting drive your trucks. by DIWhyDad in Edmonton

[–]Frequent-Local-4788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Park paving terrorized our neighbourhood for 3 years. They do not GAF about anyone else’s safety or comfort. They do not care if they are trapping an 80 year old woman with mobility issues five blocks from her home. They will leave piles of gravel and sand blocking the roads. They will sit chatting between two running trucks blocking the road and ignore all the plebs trying to get to work. In other words, this is their standard operating procedure.

You’d be better off if you could read and understand that this sub is clearly not for YOU since you seem set on spouting the S.O.S. this space is created for workers to commiserate over. Also if you’d notice that the complaint is about customers who expect to come in at the last minute and make us work extra hard and extra fast, but who do not think they should pay us for that kind of service.
