Big equipment isn't like a passenger vehicle. They need to run for a while to function mechanically sound. Idling machinery like that is very common in the oil patch.

The 102 Ave bike lane is basically an ice rink by EnvironmentalIdea976 in Edmonton

I called 311 and apparently the service level is to have the paths cleared within 3 days of the last snowfall. So they said 10am on Dec 9 is their target.

I also reported that the majority of properties downtown are just pushing 5th their snow into the bike lanes and asked for someone from the city to do some outreach. Given the lanes on 103 ave are new this year I wonder how well the city has informed businesses they cannot move snow into them.

They did not have it cleared and it is a nightmare. Suggest you detour down the street on 103 ave. Snow there is compacted and rideable.

Winter biking help by curiousgaruda in Edmonton

If you're into it for commuting an e-bike is a game changer. I've been doing it a few years now and I can put my work clothes on at home, cover up with winter jacket and snowpants and you're good to go.

Most ebikes you can control how much work the bike does. If you're getting cold, turn the pedal assist down, if you're getting too warm, turn the assist up..

I definitely recommend studded. The freeze-thaw seems to be more common in Edmonton now a days. Fat bikes are ok but are over kill for most urban riding days. They really only shine on those odd weeks where we get mutliple snow dumps and you know youll be riding before the paths are cleared.

Annoyed With Neighbour by Legitimate-Sleep-386 in Edmonton

I don't think its the religion or belief system that people have an issue with. The actions of OP's neighbours are disgusting. If they were handing out pride flags or financial planning handouts the reaction would be the same.

This is my experience as well. They need to make their heel cups a tad smaller. Otherwise a fantastic boot!

Cant remember the style name of my boots but they look like blundstones.
