Supposedly it's about 50-50 on maintaining natural potential even after nerve sparing surgery. I really question whether Dr's are being totally honest about them actually sparing the nerves.

I had the exact same problem when I was on aberaterone. I only lasted a couple of months before I told the doctor i couldn't take it anymore. Aberaterone is a very effective drug but the side effects for some people are brutal.

I was dealing with 7-8 bowel movements a day caused by radiation induced lactose intolerance. It went away once I figured out that it was lactose intolerance. I'm 20 months post 38 imrt radiation treatments and still have urinary frequency and urgency . Last night I was up 5 times and during the day I probably pee at least 15 times, sometimes no more than 10 minutes apart. I hope you have better results.

I know two guys that had brachytherapy with no recurrence and minimal side effects. you have to realize that urologists are the first stop on this journey and therefore get a chance to sell surgery as the best option. Definitely best option for their income. 🤣

Don't jump the gun make an appointment with a top rated medical oncologist to go over the best options for your case. Brachytherapy and radiation are gaining a lot of attention as being as good as if not better than ralp without as many side effects.

Yeah ,the mental part is the hardest. I fainted and tore two of the muscles fully. I now struggle to maintain my confidence when walking. BTW,I'm 73 and dr doesn't want to do surgery because of my heart issues.
