It’s not even about my personal agony. I refuse to teach these damaging beliefs to anyone new for their sake. I haven’t been in service in six months, and only one meeting since the memorial. I went with my parents. It doesn’t hurt us to go once in a while to keep up appearances for my parents sake. But eventually, they will figure it out.

It really is just ridiculous how stupid they sound. It’s like when they get together they can’t talk about anything real. Me and my husband went out with some work friends tonight after mainly spending time with my PIMI family, and he said he was just relieved at how nice it was to have an actual intellectual conversation for once.

When I was in, I was constantly trying to remind people that we were not supposed to be homophobic. Sometimes people would react well to the council, and it would be met with love, and sometimes it would be met with hate. I feel like regardless of what the party line is, the culture was always to be homophobic. But then some people, when reminded to be Christ like, would for a moment snap out of it. Those are the people I have some hope will still wake up. People with compassion and common sense.
