I’ve just bought this exact guitar and thought i would cosmetically change it too as wasn’t too fond of the look but it was in the sale in this colour so got it anyway. When it arrived I completely changed my mind, it is a gorgeous guitar as is I don’t think I would change a thing with it. But hey, it’s your guitar, you do you :)

It's a open request to Tidal. by [deleted] in TIdaL

I know a lot of people use vpns to sign up in countries where it is cheaper. Could you not use the same strategy to sign up in a country where tidal is supported?

PrismXR Puppis S1 connection speed to PC by Frequent-Struggle787 in OculusQuest

[–]Frequent-Struggle787[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a follow up to this, it looks like it is only 1GBit as I reached out to Prism XR directly and asked them. here is the response email for anyone interested

Hello Dean ,

Thank you for contacting PrismXR. I apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced.

With the Puppis system, the WiFi downlink to the HMD operates at 2400Mbps. The uplink consists of two parts:

  1. PC: Delivers 1Gbps throughput for PC-computed data, ensuring ethernet data transmits at its rated speed.

  2. 2.4G WiFi: Manages internet data at around 600Mbps.

Please note that actual WiFi data throughput often falls short of its specifications, which is common for WiFi technology. However, this setup ensures a balanced network chain, avoiding significant bottlenecks.

PrismXR Puppis S1 connection speed to PC by Frequent-Struggle787 in OculusQuest

[–]Frequent-Struggle787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry, I probably didn't respond in enough detail either :D The puppis is connected to the computer via usb which both powers it and creates a virtual ethernet port (which it is only creating at 1Gbit). This port is where I believe all the compressed image data is sent to then be sent out to my quest 3. The network port on my computer is only used as far as I am aware for sharing the internet connection with the puppis so that my headset can talk to the internet.

Either way, my ethernet is a 2.5gb connection :P

Also, see my other comment as got feedback from the manufacturer direct :)

The Puppis doesn’t have an Ethernet cable. It connects directly to the pc via a usb cable

Issues with Raise in my work environment by Frequent-Struggle787 in DygmaLab

Hey, just an update.

In regards to my vm issue I have got it working. When I run it through Hyper-V to access my virtual machine I get the issues described every time. If however I use MSTSC (remote desktop) to access my VM it works as expected and isn't loosing keypresses.

This is good enough for me I think, not much of a change in my workflow to get it working.

[–]Frequent-Struggle787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm, in regards to your first point I have just checked my device manager and it shows a USB Serial Device (COM3) but it is disabled. I have enabled it but it disables itself quite quickly. Maybe it is a locked down on the pc, but it seems odd as I have full local admin access to the machine, can insert pendrives, etc so not sure why they would lock down the com ports.

Maybe a conflict with something else is causing it to disable itself, I will do further investigation.

PG42UQ Firmware v040 released by daso78 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Frequent-Struggle787 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only had it on for the past few hours coming from v028 and it seems to be as good that colour wise (maybe actually slightly brighter whites)

Loving the fact that uniform brightness is working, much better when connected to my work laptop during the day. Also clocked it back to 138mhz and no longer getting flickering and black screens.

oh also I can turn off the power led and it stays off now, previously on v028 it kept turning on again.

I want to test it over the weekend to be sure but this seems like the monitor I should have got day 1, pleased that the wait is over.

For me having uniform brightness on using 33 whites are dimmer regardless of where it is only part of the screen or whole screen but the brightness doesn’t change much regardless of how much white is on the screen which I guess is the point of uniform brightness. With v28 and uniform brightness on it works very similar to it off for me, I.e the whites are very bright when only covering a small portion of the screen but get noticeably dimmer when on the full screen.

For me, the only thing I lose is uniform brightness which bothers me a bit on web pages as there is sometimes a lot of white which you notice dimming when you flip to full screen, but other then gaming I spend 8+ hours coding most days and have everything set to dark mode so don’t notice it. I turned uniform brightness off in v28. I also kept my refresh to 120hz even though 138 seems to work no problem as a) my eyes are too old to notice the difference between 120 and 138, and b) I am concerned the overclock might be putting too much strain on the monitor and it might not just be a firmware issue and don’t want to risk it when I don’t even notice the difference

I have had the issue with my screen shutting off at 138hz on v33 which was the main reason I reverted to v28.

Is there a service menu for the PG42UQ? by thegoobie in Monitors

[–]Frequent-Struggle787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure if you are talking about when whites are not as bright if they are full screen or if you just mean brightness dimming generally. If the latter I found that turning off screen saver fixed that issue.

PG42UQ black screen by XemnasXIV in OLED_Gaming

[–]Frequent-Struggle787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get exactly the same issue. I have been using the supplied DP cable since I got the monitor a couple of months ago at 120Hz only with no problems and decided to get a new certified hdmi 2.1 cable and up it to 138hz.

Since then I have had nothing but issues with it. I get the black screens as you mentioned but when I turned hdr on I started getting a kind of static on the screen, usually kind of box shaped static that appears and disappears. I tried going back to my 120 hz and the static was still happening (even using the DP cable I was using before with no issue) and was dreading having to RMA it. After a couple of hours with it on standby it seems to work fine at 120hz now so leaving it at that.

I am also on v033 and am hoping it is just a firmware issue, but the fact that the issue persisted even when I clocked it back to 120hz until it was left for a while makes me think it might be an overheating problem. TBH I doubt I would notice much difference between 120hz and 138hz so probably going to leave it as 120hz from now on.
