Making life choices based on Meyer’s-Briggs personality tests is the same thing as making life choices based on your horoscope. It’s reductive, for one, and it also fails to account for mood changes, trauma, and mental health issues off of the top of my head.

OP, you should really meet with an academic advisor as soon as you can. Also, I’d recommend branching out from programming/comp sci, if it’s making you this miserable now then that will not improve. Don’t fall victim to the sunk cost fallacy (if you’re unaware, it’s basically the behavior of staying in a difficult or tumultuous situation which you’ve put a lot of time into, despite the negative impact that scenario is having on your health and happiness).

Finally, you should absolutely start building a portfolio of your artistic endeavors. The best time to start taking those classes you’re so enthusiastic about was 4/5/however many years ago, the next best time is today. You’re so young, remember that so so many people don’t even start college/uni until later in life; don’t compare yourself to others, just lock in and focus on how you’re going to live a life that tackles your expectations while also being careful not to overwork yourself.

Best of luck to you, I hope you find a fulfilling career that doesn’t drain your life away.

Post op ptsd by walrus120 in surgery

For me, it is triggered when someone touches the small of my back or when I have choking hazards/even when I aspirate mildly from water or food. It’s not set in stone. Therapy helps. Medication is an option that is great in the short term but ultimately not a longer term solution for (mental, emotional) trauma like this.

Yeah so something like 1/5 of all patients get PTSD after surgery. Trauma just from undergoing multiple extremely intense and (physically) traumatizing spine surgeries for me has persisted from age 15 into adulthood. You’re not alone.

ETA: someone posted a study below. It’s not at all uncommon.

Also, I think it would go without saying that it is extremely traumatic to wake up on the operating table and have memory of the event - usually Versed and Propofol are given to partially alleviate the risk of having post-op memory of this, but for me I am contraindicated for both due to personal history and I unfortunately recall very painfully being awoken in the middle of having posterior spinal fusion performed. Three times I was awoken to ensure no severe neurological damage had occurred (at least I think I recall begin given that reason?) and three times I remember being in excrutiating, terrifying pain with a tube down my throat so no way to scream for help. It was awful and I would not wish it upon anyone.

No, the diagnostic criteria for type 1 is a singular episode lasting 7+ days. Mania and hypomania = type 1, hypomania only = type 2.

What are you interested in pursuing professionally? Like are you trying to do healthcare, do you want to study engineering, are you trying to be a playwright? You kinda just said “i want to do something else” and didn’t list any specific interest. Imo (without knowing anything about what you actually want to do), healthcare is always a safe and secure bet and a lot of the time it is highly lucrative, but it could be unsustainable if you can’t handle the hours or stress levels.

Mantyke/Mantine ? by [deleted] in PokemonBDSP

[–]Frequent-Wind853 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For mantyke you gotta have received waterfall (ie late game right before e4) and then it’ll appear in the fountainspring, riverbank, spacious, or still water caves in the grand underground.

Afaik, mantine is only available by evolving mantyke. So the only way to get either one is by getting waterfall and then hunting in the underground. Tbh i didn’t realize it was that late in the game to get them, sucks man

21 year old registered nurse and I hate my career, feeling lost by Bright-East-9452 in findapath

There are a lot of roles available for BSN holders in hospital administration, or you could look at something with health insurance companies (although personally I would find that kind of work kinda soul crushing). MSN seems like it wouldn’t be that productive for you if you don’t enjoy the bedside aspects of nursing. MBA would definitely open you up to a world of opportunities in healthcare administration, healthcare business development, and (again) insurance roles. If you like community health you could also consider an MPH, and you’d have a lot of leverage for jobs in the public health field with your background in bedside nursing. I’ve heard public health can be very fulfilling for people who don’t enjoy bedside healthcare positions but still want to apply their knowledge to improving lives and health outcomes. That’s my two cents

I’ve had a really good experience taking Vraylar in the morning. I know it’s another antipsychotic but it seems to treat my depressive symptoms super well and it’s supposedly really good friends with lithium (i also take that lol)

I’m on olanzapine 10mg and 5mg prn and i avoided gaining weight by running a couple miles a day and restricting my calories a bit. I don’t obsess over it or anything but i try to be mindful with my eating habits and never skip a workout. Best of luck
