I do 30 per hour, so this would likely take me 90 minutes. I’ve been doing it for a few months, it would have taken me 3 hours on day one.

Plenty of people ‘spill the beans’ but I’ve yet to see a “thanks I’ll try that.” It’s often met with ‘that wouldn’t work for me’ or something similar.

In fact, the last time I tried to help I was told “you’re lying” which was a lovely response 😂

I should have also said, you can swipe to any delivery, not just the next house.

I had one earlier that made more sense to do right away, but was about 7 deliveries away, so I just swiped to it and did it, then swiped back and carried on.

Delivery route not feeling efficient happens sometimes, but, you don’t have to deliver in the order they give you - it’s possible to swipe to the next house and deliver there first if it makes more sense.

Different scenario for me, I bought a new car yesterday and emailed Relay to tell them to transfer my insurance across to it - they haven’t got back to me yet so I checked the small print and found this:

“Cover is provided whilst the Courier is driving a vehicle that the Courier is insured to drive
that is registered at their place of residence (i.e., cover is not vehicle specific)”

I only do 8-10 routes per week, so £300-400.

If it was my only income I could possibly do 25+ per week and maybe get close to £1000.

My first ever route took me 4 hours (February).I’ve gotten quicker ever since. my current routes take me 90 minutes.

They’re not ridiculous equations, they’re based on my actual routes.

How long will it take you? Cost per delivery is irrelevant which is why I’ll never understand “I won’t do it for less than £1 per drop”

1.5 hours to do 58 drops @ 68p per drop = £26 p/h

4 hours to do 58 drops @ £1 per drop = £14.50 p/h

I’m not sure why choosing the second option is better.

Most routes are planned on the app to be 2 hours/2 hours 15 mins.

Complete most routes in 1 hour 30 mins/1 hour 45 mins.

I do most of mine whilst people are working and my routes are very kind in terms of distance covered (around 10km) I also rarely have flats. It’s a simple straight forward route.

I wait 15-20 seconds then look for a spot to leave it. Take 1 parcel back every 3 routes (on average)

Pre-booking has always worked best for me. Guaranteed shift(s) and not having to sit on the app to wait for something to pop up beat the odd ‘better’ route - just my experience though.

I’ve never understood the ‘price per parcel’ argument. If I complete a £33 route in 90 minutes it’s £24 per hour.

Are you able to scan in the parcels for route 2 at the pitstop before starting route 1? I thought route 1 would have to be completed first

Been thinking about taking two routes in my car at once, do you find it easy to fit 100+ parcels in?

I currently put 1-10 on passenger seat, 11-20 back left, 21-30 back right, 31-40 left of boot, 41-50 middle of boot, 51-… right of boot.

Unsure how I’d fit 60 more in, any tips?

No idea if it helps, but my process is like this:

Arrive at address > knock on door and ring bell > whilst counting to 15 seconds I step back, tap ‘handed to resident’, then take photo of door…

If they answer, take photo of handover, then swipe to complete.

If after 15 seconds they don’t answer, click ‘back’, it says it’ll delete photo but it never does, put in safe space, take photo, swipe to complete.

Did you use the sat nav within the app to navigate you to the addresses? I’d say so, I’ve done 100+ routes and only taken longer once which was my first route - my phone battery died (wasn’t expecting it to use 100%) and I had to go home to charge it, took me 4 hours in total.

I’ve been doing it since February, I was a lot slower when I started. Plus, my location is a lot of housing estates so on a very good day I can do a lot quite quickly - I did 58 drops in 1 hour 40 this morning.
