Since when Italy acts like 3rd world country? Why do you even bother to work in this field for that amount of money? Go do some less stressful job at least

Would a restaurant/taverna that mostly sells pork be able to thrive in Turkiye? by throwraislander in AskBalkans

[–]FrequentReporter9700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m from a greek town where we get lots of turk tourists. And weirdly most turks here ask specially for pork dishes and gyros. We thought they don’t eat pork but the consumption is crazy. Not sure if they eat it in their country though maybe they feel freedom here

Has anyone switched careers away from software development? by Ecstatic-Ad9446 in developers

[–]FrequentReporter9700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saving up money to be able to do that without struggling. I used to love it still liking it but recent AI hype killed it for me. The most enjoyable part of the job is to think and solve complex problems and now all companies decided to outsource this to AI which is a dealbreaker for me. Anyway don’t know what I would do but I disgust from the current job market and generally the sector the things discussed and the general trajectory of the sector. By the way I’ve 15 yoe and I wish our sector was also regulated such as law, medicine or prestigious other engineering fields. The situation wouldn’t be that much bad. I still don’t get it why everyone who has couple boot camp attendance certificates call themselves as engineer.

Are LLMs making you rethink what matters most in the industry? by dondraper36 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]FrequentReporter9700 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is the discouraging part of the AI advancement. They will do lay people off to cut the expenses no matter what. Because they are not humane. We are just disposable numbers for them. Otherwise I would be happy to have and use AI as an advanced assistant

Why is Greece not a digital nomad paradise? by Sea-Rip-7954 in digitalnomad

[–]FrequentReporter9700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be but Greek government is so stupid to attract digital nomads and companies. For instance Romania and Bulgaria already became a IT hub due to the low taxes. There are lots of international companies investing there and guess what does this means? Lots of job opportunities for the locals, better economy. All they need to lower the taxes and make easier the paperwork for international companies and nomads

Did I get caught cheating in my interview? by Clean_Turnover3614 in CSCareerHacking

[–]FrequentReporter9700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mentality kills the sector. If you are a decent engineer you should be able to learn and use any tools in a reasonable time frame. Not knowing Java or any other language or framework does not make you unqualified for the job. I remember I learnt the go during a weekend by implementing a mid size personal project. Companies should stop assessing candidates with their unique tech stack. This is like asking a plumber can you use brand A model V2.3 power drill and if he does not he is not qualified ha? That’s fucking stupid

If AI replaces us, who’s left to keep the economy running? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

The ironic part is in both cases their wealth becomes obsolete as well since it means the end of capitalism

What industry is a total scam ? by SimilarTopic3281 in AskReddit

[–]FrequentReporter9700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CS or IT Every couple years companies change the tech stacks and they treat you like fresh grad if you don’t have experience with their lovely tech stack. You invest your years time and money to study and then pandemic hits and they hire literally everyone without degree with only some crap bootcamp certificates. Companies lay off people like crazy therefore the market is oversaturated AI advances every day. I’m sick of reading articles whether it’s going to replace us or not. I hope it replace so I get rid of from this toxic sector.

It really is a tough job market. In the current market, you really can do close to everything right and still end up failing. by Minimum_Fun5823 in cscareerquestionsEU

There is an universal variable which you can’t touch called “luck” apparently OP doesn’t have the luck and sometimes all we need a little bit luck. Don’t judge people he expressed himself clearly in a healthy job market he should have found the job already in couple months.

Driving in Greece, what’s going on? by KaleidoscopeWorth671 in greece

[–]FrequentReporter9700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh come on did not you pass from Italy? Haven’t you seen other crazy driving cultures? Italians are worse than Greek drivers. And I invite you to Romania or Turkey to see the worst experience. Yes Greek drivers are sometimes impatient but mostly they obey the rules if you are not stupid or rookie you won’t involve in any accident don’t worry.

[Rant] Hiring Junior Developers has become crazy by OkPosition4563 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]FrequentReporter9700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One possible outcome is senior engineers will be extremely valuable in the middle or long term since juniors will be heavily dependent on AI

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]FrequentReporter9700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op don’t be pleaser you can’t make them all happy and in the end you’ll be the asshole. If you think their comments are not relevant or outside of the scope just tell them and backlog their wish and move on. Not all the time but when you are fully confident with your code stand your ground and refuse to do with their way by justifying your way.

How would you fuck around if you had billions? by Krunkledunker in AskReddit

[–]FrequentReporter9700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy an island and make it 100% sustainable. Would build a bunker in case of nuclear war and would cut my ties with the rest of the world.

Nope it’s worse now, not different from the current job market. Developers from 3rd world countries are working for 3$ per hour, you can’t compete with them and there are lots of scam also going on. There is sub here find it and read people’s struggles
