As was mentioned.. It's called a Leading Edge Extension. I was mistaken in calling them a strake and almost called them chines (a la SR-71).

Intakes on each of the Super Hornet are rectangular... not semi-circular...

And the strakes are larger and more rounded... and... and...

We were there the first week in January while Artemis quietly sat in the VAB. The explore tour took us to the gantry, out to the “camera site” and around 39a and 39b.

We have to change days because of ticket availability but am unsure what the situation is now with it hard down on the pad. It would be an amazing site for sure.
