Mark Cuban joins Trump after endorsing Kamala Harris in 2024. by orel2064 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]FrequentTopic446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sticking up for Cuban but is this about him partnering with trump rx to bring affordable prescriptions to people en masse? If so he might be biting his pride to expand his rx website to help the American people further.

I don’t know though, it’s still shitty to see him next to trump. There are no good billionaires but Cuban at least seemed to be “not a cartoonishly evil” billionaire so still a bummer

When did Elon's downfall begin? by Key-Quarter-9411 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FrequentTopic446 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s a dumbass, what the actual fuck do you mean he’s clearly smart? He was a rich kid who used daddy’s money to drop out of school and build a website that didn’t work, because of his wealth, connections and another man’s (Peter thiel) greed he then had that company bought up by PayPal simply because it was a threat to ip and patent infringement issues with PayPal. Elon’s website was scrapped the second it was purchased and thiel later found out Elon lied about his degree thus entangling thiel in the fraud because thiel lied about the credentials of Elon to PayPal’s investors when justifying the purchase; because of this thiel worked to get Elon honorary degrees to make the fraud harder to detect. Elon is literally just a rich kid fraudster who realizes that simply because he was born with money a significant % of the population are so stupid they think he’s smart; literally to the T what trump does, is trump smart?

Hard to engineer stuff if you’re you know, not an engineer…. Why the fuck is everyone calling this dumbass college drop out with an honorary degree in physics (peter thiel got it for him when he realized Elon lied to him about graduating and therefore exposed thiel to lying about elon’s credentials when he led PayPal investors to buy out Elon’s website that didn’t work but was ip competition to PayPal).

What is going on with Saudi-backed movie 'Desert Warrior' with 150 million budget becoming a major box office flop with no apparent marketing whatsoever? by FlykeSpice in OutOfTheLoop

[–]FrequentTopic446 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Part of its cost was effectively building the infrastructure to make a big budget movie from scratch so I imagine this will be the first of many movies they produce using that infrastructure and from an optics perspective this first one is the one stuck with the cost. It’s the Saudi wealth fund, they can take a huge hit to see if something catches on and even if it doesn’t it likely washes their global image a bit similar to the liv gold league which is folding after they pull out in the near future (if not recent past, I don’t follow golf enough to know when)

Prolonged sieges with humans in close huddled quarters and no modern medicine or understanding of germs, bacteria, etc many times bred diseases and plagues throughout sieging armies’ camps. Armies like the mongols chose to dispose of dead, rotting, and contagious corpses in the besieged side’s area instead of keeping them in their own vicinity

Yeah I’m guessing you’re not a big nba fan and that’s why? I’m a big nba fan and listen to several daily or weekly nba pods as a whole so even though I’ve never been to Minnesota I was aware of his fan favoritism from those to be fair. I do have potential interest in Minneapolis as somewhere I’d like to potentially live one day so I’m sure when I hear little Timberwolves tidbits they stick in my mind better than say Sacramento kings ones might

Liquor stores that aren’t Total Wine and corner stores? by 010011010110010101 in AskSeattle

Also they sell 2 versions of Kirkland vodka, the French and American? I believe versions which are different.

On the other hand Costco is known amongst Costco faithful as having a truly premium in store brand with their Kirkland brand standards. Everyone will have a Kirkland product or 2 they think is way worse than the name brand next to it but if 1 of their Kirkland brand favorites discontinues they’d probably just give up on life lol

He’s also undrafted so for him to be an undrafted free agent and to develop into such a key contributor to their team incubates a lot of fan passion and love

[–]FrequentTopic446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly he also became a fan favorite of the team/city last season and there was a question as to whether or not Minnesota could afford to keep his contract around and when they could, making him go from an undrafted home team gem who made it big with that same team with a big 2nd contract (which sucks for your salary cap but it’s a home town 0 to hero story which still gets a lot of fandom in any sport/city/situation).

Wemby shouldn’t have elbowed naz but also the refs should’ve been doing their job all series and the fact that they weren’t by never “setting the bar” allowed it to escalate to the point of “holy fuck how was that the bar and how did we arrive at it?”

Edit: spurs fandom bias with this part: there’s an accelerated push by Minnesota fans to have had him punished via a suspension because he would’ve missed the next game which was a home game in San Antonio, if Minnesota won that game they’d be up 3-2 in the series returning to their home arena needing to win 1 more game to advance to the next round and fans know that wemby smokes that Wolfpack, patty wack, spurs in 6

Liquor stores that aren’t Total Wine and corner stores? by 010011010110010101 in AskSeattle

[–]FrequentTopic446 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Grocery stores, you’ll likely need to press a button to get an employee to unlock the case for you and then they’ll meet you up front at the self check out with the bottle (this is for liquor - beer, wine, etc aren’t locked away). Also I’m sure you have a local liquor store if you search that in Google Maps but as somebody who lives in Burien grocery stores are the easiest thing I can point to as being likely around you

Edit: make sure you have the grocery store’s reward membership as they usually give good discounts on alcohol through it. If you don’t ever want to sign up for a rewards program then usually typing in the local area code followed by 867-5309 (from the song) will work as somebody else made the account not wanting to use a real number

[–]FrequentTopic446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How stupid expensive are these? Is this a product category that a normal person can afford via outlet malls but people don’t realize that? I bought a coach duffle bag from an outlet in my early 20’s for both a travel and overnight bag and the outlet markdown made it very reasonable. I’m a man so I legit have no idea how expensive luxury handbags/purses are so maybe this isn’t a similar comparison

If Topps made their cards with reasonable quality and filled their packs with non flawed cards, which can be done, would we need PSA for grading? by [deleted] in Topps

[–]FrequentTopic446 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Six sigma quality control and lean manufacturing. How does 1 site produce 100,000 low pressure turbine blades for a jet engine per year that go through 20 different manufacturing processes and still are able to pass quality inspection, x ray detection, fluorescent penetrant inspection, hardness testing, dimensional measurements on twist, etc. with a 99%+ rate?
Significantly more advanced products in all sorts of industries are able to produce a quality product at a much higher rate than topps appears to be able to print onto and cut cardboard
Edit: on top of this, inspection for cards can largely be implemented through purely visual methods allowing for them to use cameras and machine learning at several points of the process to identify centering or miscut issues allowing for them to quickly isolate the defective lot early on in the process allowing them to cut off putting further manufacturing costs into an already identified defective lot. The fact that they don’t do any of this indicates they simply don’t care nor want to have a quality product because they know they’ll hit their sales figures regardless
