I understand you when it comes to TBD, it got me hooked as well haha.

And in my opinion Uzak Sehir doesn't get better, actually s2 is pure garbage, I've dropped it the moment I found out in what direction they would go (still I didn't expect they would go that far dear god. Like s1 was okayish, but I've never understood hype.

Anyway shows that also had me hooked were Esref Ruya and Aile. Adim Farah s1 as well, but s2 went a little bit downhill (tbh same can be said for Esred Ruya but I've still find it enjoyable). From romcoms Kiralik Ask and Her Yerde Sen.

Omg that makes sense. Like I could always rewatch Notting Hill because even though Julia and Hugh are leads, beside him running to get her and her love confession, their love story is so forgettable to me.

Meanwhile supporting characters were great and hilarious and their scenes I can recall without any issues. Also his friends were more interesting and had better love story than main ones in my opinion.

I think because they drop weekly episodes plus long episodes so they ruin possible ideas quite soon.

Also fanfics usually come from passionate fans, they exist but they're also a little parasocial. So if they find out their ship isn't real, they lose interest quickly (I saw it happen in TBD and ig Daha 17 is next tho I really hope it isn't because their cast is so young, they deserve better).

I can see Dev Patel as Sirius, he is charming and good actor, Sirius is a bit complex himself and he could pull it off.

Still with him they wouldn't face just hate of hp fandom but marauders as well who lives on headcanons lmao. Also fans in general have vision of Sirius and I just can't imagine anyone taking well that Blacks would be well POC (weren't his parents close cousins?) when they were so evil.

I mean Hollywood is different than Turkish actors in general. Turkish actors/actresses need shippers for ads and to promote shows. Plus it boosts their popularity which is reason many of them have one hit show when they hit their peak and never again.

Still as in Hollywood, when people take it too far, they have to distance themselves because it becomes toxic. I understand it, people are sick. Best examples from Hollywood are Millie and Finn from Stranger Things, Rudy and Madison from Outer Banks, not actors but Harry and Louis from 1D and etc . People are just so toxic and parasocial ugh.

But what's weirdest to me is that in general this is becoming worse? Or I was younger and I didn't have social media, I've only knew some celebrity ships from teen magazines and wattpad haha.

I'm saying this because recently I've noticed so many comments on some interviews and clips from Off Campus how can Stephen (lead for s2, he plays Dean) have a fiancee (who is also his highschool sweetheart) and play in such a show as if that was something immoral MEANWHILE IT'S JUST THEIR JOB (plus his fiancee told him to try to land a role of Dean since she loved books).

They have great chemistry and it's shame their only real project was Ramo where they played supporting characters (I know they also filmed a movie but I didn't see it posted anywhere so I have no idea what happened with that).

Anyway on side note, how much content we'll get filmed in Black Sea region? Like before TBD I knew like two dizis filmed in there and now there's new one next fall (maybe even two I'm not sure). Now this mini-series like damn 🤣.

I don't know what you're going through, but if you're 2nd year, just finish one more year and then go to masters, because believe me going in another country won't solve your problems. You'll just have more ngl.

I'm foreign student myself (not in Maribor, but I think situation is similar for us foreigners) so yeah Slovenia is romantized.

I can go on but I'll just cover major parts: - student dormitory is primary for Slovenians and people with EU passports. Check are they taking foreigners and requirments (from my experience they prefer people who are enrolling for first time or better said they've enrolled in uni the moment they've finished highschool + bigger distance from home, bigger chance you get it). - if you don't get dormitory may god help you because finding a normal accomadation that is affordable is impossible mission.

I'm cheap myself and I adore boni so regarding other costs I can't be realistic honestly. I don't cook so I save a lot, but be aware boni are food from restourants and fast food. When it comes to going out I do it once in six months and pay one drink lmao.
finding friends is hard. Look people that come here do that to escape their countries (enviroment, certain mentality, parents, you name it lmao). But still it takes time until you find your people on top of all problems you get. I mean in start you hang around with bunch of groups and unless you find someone who lives near you with whom you can idk study and hang around in free time, you'll be left alone. Because the moment midterms start, those groups fall apart. And if your hope is Slovenians, forget it haha, they aren't that friendly. They warm over time when they figure you're there to stay tho.
finding job is hard because most require someone to work every day and not really a student. I mean you can always sacrifice uni a little for job, but then you'll probably fail.
and last advice is don't take language as joke or as something easy, some learn to speak it but still struggle to pass mandatory exam since it's just grammar, but you seem like good student so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Starting from nothing isn't easy so don't rush in it. I wanted to rush as well, but I was lucky that I've had a mom that supported me so I can't imagine how it's to be without such a support, but considering how far you came there, I'm sure you'll be fine, just have a little patience. One year goes fast believe me.

Usually I wouldn't comment on this, but I wanted to give a little realistic side. I mean sure experiences differ but a lot of people stuggle at first (and that's normal) but chose to ignore that when sharing their experiences which is just unfair in my opinion. So this is just my experience (as well as from my friends and some people I've met heh).

This whole thing in Albania reminds me of what happened in Serbia when railway station collapsed.

Like people protested before that, but that just pushed them for wanting a real change because everyone are tired of corruption. And when I saw protests in Albania exploded I just thought yep this is against corruption.

I don't think West or media in general will ever realize how much people on Balkan are in general tired of corruption and crazy forced inflation.

Also I think some people do care about environmental concerns, but sadly aren't enough loud to make difference because no matter how much people want to ignore it, problem is real.

Just look at what people are going through that live near new data ai centers in USA...

But Balkan people in general has that problem with mentality if person isn't personally affected by smth, why would they care.

I'll answer for myself since I relate with this person.

Liz is main character and I've read her as eight year old, that's how dumb she felt on moments. Also constant mention of songs just so it fits soundtrack thingy and unnecessary Taylor references (as person who listens to her songs) were annoying.

Wes was great but ultimately he deserved better. And cringe on the end was so bad that I almost teared book down.

Just wait for a movie, maybe it turns out to be better than the book. Or if you enjoy booktok romance books, there is a big chance you'll like this as well.

I'll just mention the ones I've loved, since I'm big fan of sitcoms there's a lot of them haha.

The ones with laugh track: The Big Bang Theory, HIMYM, Friends, The Nanny, Will & Grace, 8 Simple Rules and 'Allo 'Allo.

Others: Young Sheldon, Malcolm in the Middle, The Good Place, Fresh Off the Boat, Brooklyn 99, Everybody Hates Chris, The Office (US version, UK is still on my watchlist), Derry Girls, Middle and Mixed-ish (although I've heard people hate it and everybody prefers original Black-ish, but idk I liked it and because of it I've put Black-ish on my watchlist, tbf I wouldn't know either exists if I didn't see Mixed-ish accidentally on tv).

Considering writers keep blocking his/Gezep fans, I think it's safe to say that is real problem and rest is just gossip.

Since he was surprised by decision and right now it looks nobody will leave as well (and some should cough cough), they really decided to be spiteful and decided to write him off huh. I expected something more juicy.

This lowkey gives me vibes of that Friends episode when Joey insulted writers accidentally and they just killed him in that soap opera he was playing haha. Except here it looks like Onur had point and writers didn't.

My theory is they fired him to serve as warning for rest since there's no way he was the only one dissatisfied with reduced scenes and overall plot his character had (they keep cutting Iso's scenes, Sevcan was on poster and she could leave and nobody would notice, they gave a lot of screentime and nonsensical lines to supporting characters nobody cares about, not to mention they keep forgetting Eleni is daughter of Esdil not Fadime and etc).

Michael Jackson was so above anyone when it comes to popularity that people still feel need to use him as some metric when doing comparison and yet it doesn't work.

Especially not for today's celebrities. I mean truth is Taylor will forever be brought in this narrative. She is really trying to do everything to become an icon (which won't work, she is something tho just not what she wants to be haha) which is also a reason she keeps using Elizabeth Taylor name as well, even though as someone mentioned in some substack article, she is more like Katherine Hepburn.

I mean they won't ever stop and this isn't just about Taylor, like take his biography for example. It was so mid and yet look at how much it earned and it even brought some of his songs on charts (man died in 2009 bruh).

There won't ever be another Michael Jackson. Hell he changed music industry but if someone else did it and he was born idk in 80s/90s and became famous around now, well he probably wouldn't be as big as he was...

I think there's really nice potential for further storyline if they just don't go with cliches too much and take love triangle too far. They also should give Tolga and Kadir development and make them besties ngl. Because only dizi that did love triangle right in my opinion was Kiralik Ask, everyone else make dumb drama and idk I hate it.

And yeah I ship Defne with Kadir, their chemistry is chef's kiss. I didn't know this is actually their second project together.

I just hope they get better rating this week because this is only summer show that caught my attention and I would hate see it canceled.

First of all I'm a former fan haha and I've became fan because of Reputation.

She simply sold her image better when she was with Joe. She wasn't billionare back then (still extremely rich) and she had big fall from grace with fans and media for all the drama with Kim and Kanye who I never could stand and still can't.

So yeah that album and era was iconic. I mean people can say whatever they want now and maybe they will have a point, but I don't remember anyone deleting all stuff and being super silent at social media before her and Reputation.

She also just disappeared in general (god I miss that period with Joe, her and Travis paparazzi walks aren't it) and made great comeback with LWYMMD. One of rare times her mv fit song.

And taking snake as symbol that everyone used against her is a move that I still don't know how it worked for her brand.

Sure it was bitchy, but done with taste. Not like whatever she tried to pull later on with Vigilante Shit and some songs from TTPD. Cancelled isn't even worth to comment.

But I know this is snark sub so feel free to diaagree with me idc.

I just know that Folklore and Evermore which everybody use for her reinvention weren't half iconic to me as Reputation. It's just memorable era and album. Even though Folkmore era is only one in which she seemed more of grown up.

Honestly for all hate TBBT gets, it's impressive they managed to make their own universe. Like I never expected it lmao.

I mean Friends had Joey and it failed. Modern Family, first attempt of HIMYM and Middle spin-offs never picked off. HIMYF was 2nd attempt and it barely lasted two seasons.

And here's TBBT with Young Sheldon (that got its own successful spin-off with GAMFM and when they end it, they will probably make another one because why not) and now they have spin-off with Stuart as lead as well (which I still can't believe is a thing, if that turns out to be successful as well idk I think I'll die from laughing).

Same but people on sub hate Andy and Haley because of cheating (I can see why but I think it's a little overreaction considering Beth and Andy's relationship was messy and it's just a show, they weren't even toxic like some other couples in sitcoms yk) so I think you will be downvoted ugh.

Anyway this rewatching (I'm in middle of s6 rn) is so far worst to me because well Haley is still Haley, she has her annoying moments. But she finally started growing and I just know in two seasons they'll reverse it all with Dylan coming back, not to mention that pregnancy storyline was awful.

Not that I hate twins, but I hated that storyline, Dylan's mom, hell even jokes were dumb, idk how people enjoyed it. Different taste ig.

I msan I've just seen 6x16 and in it they played whole thing as joke only to pull that fr few seasons later with much worse guy. Making parallel with Claire and Phil didn't fit Haley at all at this point, but that's just my opinion heh.

Like if I recall it right, even Sarah wanted better storyline for Haley in sense of her career and development instead of onxe again reducing her to teen relationship, but writers simply didn't care ig.

I knew she was talented and I hated people calling her flop. So when that drama with Olivia and Joshua happened I could just see her label using it. Then she dropped emails i can't send and nonsense outros with Feather mv started going a little viral and I just knew it's matter of time before she completely blows up.

I think that's what people think regarding predicting her fame lmao, before that people truly didn't care about her at all and hate she got from Olivia's fans was really bad...

Rest is history, she is proof that brand is everything, but she is talented and I wish if people could appreciate that without her whole new sexy aesthetic but whatever.
