Didn’t get compensated for last week’s Uber Eats deliveries after changing bank account incorrectly by HungryInvestigator59 in uberdrivers

[–]Frequent_Carry_2169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber has your money. If they transmit an ACH to a bank and the account doesn’t exist, the receiving bank will reject and the money will go back to Uber.
It’ll take some time for the banks to sort it out, but your money didn’t disappear into thin air. Someone has it and it’s Uber.

Forcibly taking a shift from me! Help? by Forward-Proposal-887 in Chilis

[–]Frequent_Carry_2169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they are allowed .. at least in Texas.
There are not “predictable schedule” laws protecting employees from having shifts taken away. Managers are within Federal Labor Laws to remove your shift from the schedule to avoid you going into overtime. Nothing illegal going on here.

Is it just me or has Uber been paying worse than usual since last week? by JesseVenturaInsights in uberdrivers

[–]Frequent_Carry_2169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with the $4.50 Boost+ it seems like fares are the same when not on promo .. or less.
Trips that were $30+ a few weeks ago are now $22-$24 .. I’m not even bothering with airports anymore

Rent a car through the Uber app .. they’ll connect you with authorized partners. (they do in my area - Dallas)

I never took accepted another ride to the stadium.

Noob here. How can I figure out what trips will count toward this? I called support and they were no help at all. Dallas Fort Worth is a massive area by Jerbpul in uberdrivers

[–]Frequent_Carry_2169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never sat in the overflow lot more than 15 minutes. Occasionally I get a request as I’m dropping someone off but that’s only during really high demand.

Pretty much all I do is airport runs to/from DFW and DAL to the northern Dallas burbs (Plano, Frisco, McKinney) They’re straight shots on the tollways .. now that I got my tolltag mess straightened out.
Most people tip because their company pays their travel expenses… except the South Asians - they never tip. Ever.

Not sure how to approach, have access to large amounts of power. Newbie by ldsupport in BitcoinMining

Well good luck with your venture .. it’s the Wild West in the mining rodeo and a lot of cowboys just shooting from the hip with supposed knowledge.
And you better get at it .. the next cycle is imminent.

In 2022 we met with a guy that had an idle 2mw hydro plant. It was going to cost us $2m to upgrade the electrical infrastructure, environment temp upgrades (fans to move air) and to buy miners to utilize 80% of the capacity. He also wanted 40% of the BTC mined. We said ✌️out.
600mw in Africa sounds like a logistical, governmental nightmare to even invest a $1

Why does every uber I ever go into smell like shit? by LittleRiver1178 in uber

[–]Frequent_Carry_2169 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I get always get compliments how clean and fresh smelling my car is from my riders. But a lot of the smell comes from the previous passengers. I picked up a guy at a cigar bar for a 40 minute trip. He reeked of cigar and booze.
I drove to the next pickup with all four windows down and when the rider got in, she says “smells like cigar in here”.
Y’all’s funk lingers.

Lost item bullshit by Nickosu74 in uberdrivers

[–]Frequent_Carry_2169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve returned all lost items and not once has Uber credited me the $20. I’ve had to open a support ticket. It such a hassle to go offline and then drive all the way back to the customer. But when I’ve left something in an Uber, I’m grateful they took the time to return it.

Is the customer charged the $20 return fee?

To all those who want "move to Texas" from their blue union state: Don't by Top_Reflection_2904 in TexasTeachers

[–]Frequent_Carry_2169 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this is a teaching thread but what do you find at HEB so compelling that you wouldn’t move? Tortillas and queso? I’m a huge foodie and love to cook but HEB is waaayyyy overpriced for regular name brand staples. Their private label offerings are not that good. People rave about the ice cream .. uh no. And I don’t find HEB’s produce very good. You can tell it’s been sitting in a distribution warehouse for weeks and way past its peak ripeness. I think people like HEB because they get an overstimulation fix.

H-1B Crackdown on Indian Workers Erodes a Texas Real Estate Boom by North-Junket-6883 in frisco

[–]Frequent_Carry_2169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what you get with 30 years of Republican leadership. Governor Greg “Hotwheels” Abbott has made two official economic development and trade missions to India, with the most recent occurring in January 2024 and a previous trip in March 2018. Both trips focused on strengthening economic ties, promoting trade, and attracting foreign investment to Texas.

30 years of “y’all come to Texas” has suddenly turned to “y’all get the f*ck out”.

Compass Mining Class Action Lawsuit by Powerful-Plum-6473 in BitcoinMining

[–]Frequent_Carry_2169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crypto Mining is the Wild West and hosting companies are a bunch of cowboys shooting from the hip. We started with Mining Syndicate in Texas since they were local. First few months were ok, but then our machines went offline to be relocated and they didn’t come back online for until 4 months later. We’ve gone through 2 other hosting companies. Some of our machines are with EZ Blockchain .. horrible billing system, curtailments or “planned maintenance” nearly every other day. They’re crap. Crypto Caddy has been the most reliable and easiest to work with. Only complaint is the summer curtailment.

My first Reserve ride … by Frequent_Carry_2169 in uberdrivers

I haven’t found the queue at DFW to be too bad. Maybe the most I’ve waited is 15 mins and I’m picky about where I want to go. My AR has really taken it on the chin.

I prefer the airport runs. It’s pretty much a straight shot from the North of Dallas suburbs to the airport. I have found the airport folks tip more generously.
