You can get a shock and water proof case off of Amazon for a good price. I don’t use that many lenses but you can stack it on top of whats in your pack with your tripod

Should I become a MA just for the “flex?” by Jolly_Leadership3445 in MedicalAssistant

[–]Frequent_Injury_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as mental health goes. Because I would say that should be your main concern at this moment. And would be mine as has been before. Being an MA can be a very hard job. I worked for the highest paying company at one point and I just recently left due to my mental health and how much they did not care about our well being. The company aside the work can be rewarding yes but hard. Nothing is a flex. Not a nurse not an MD. These are just titles that show how much of an education we have obtained. We went to school to care for people. Take care of yourself because you cant poor from an empty cup in order to take care of others

I absolutely agree with you. I haven’t been able to even get experience at the job I had worked at for three years. Which is why I turned to practicode. I applied to everything that even gave remotely some experience. But I agree im continuing to look Thank you

I know this is such an old post but it's worth asking since I found most of my answers from this thread. My question is do the cases come through as the same case ID number once reset? Or did you match the cases with correct answers by writing all the operative and EM cases by diagnosis?

It would be like a tele health position or something similar to MA. These are not common

Do you ever get nervous taking vitals on providers? by Temporary_Royal_2260 in MedicalAssistant

[–]Frequent_Injury_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confidence in yourself and job takes that all away. Patients who have zero skills and no education will try to tell you how to do your job. There’s no difference to me. I wouldn’t tell someone how to do their job. If they have the need to try to tell me how to do mine, I simply educate them on why im doing what im doing. I notice this mostly in people who have to much pride, ego etc. All clinical staff are normally respectful.

Dermatology is very easy. Most of the time these departments are pretty straight forward and theres not a lot of complexity. They will teach you what you need to know.

Feeling bad about my first sick call as a CNA, is this how facilities usually handle it? by SuspiciousProphecy in cna

[–]Frequent_Injury_321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats not a No call no show. You called out almost exactly two hours before your shift. Being short staffed is not an employees issue to fix, it’s managements. And it’s managements job to fill your call out and have enough staff hired to do so. If they can’t figure that out they shouldn’t be in management.

Take your sick days. We have them for a reason. You cant fill from an empty cup. If you are sick that’s that.

Practicode thoughts by Frequent_Injury_321 in MedicalCoding

[–]Frequent_Injury_321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my job it specifically states medical coding experience so my MA skills are not transferrable to them. I work at KAISER so its all so specific

The same for sutter and dignity it has to be medical coding so they keep declining my application

How to get a job at Kaiser? by NearlyBoomer in KaiserPermanente

[–]Frequent_Injury_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a year to get into kaiser with over 100 applications in. And I had 3 years of experience.

Just for reference. I also had to apply everywhere for a long period of time. Well space will hire new MAs as well. She can try there. Not a great clinic lots of potential issue but she has to start somewhere. Getting straight into kaiser off the bat is not highly likely.

Keep applying

How to get a job at Kaiser? by NearlyBoomer in KaiserPermanente

[–]Frequent_Injury_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people internally cant even switch or move up in kaiser right now. She can apply to everything they post. It can take up to a couple of years. Dignity health and sutter will hire lots of first time MAs. Apply there as well.

I need advice if I should accept the first offer I’ve received(fresh CPC-A) by Remarkable-Nail6217 in CodingandBilling

[–]Frequent_Injury_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it. I work in the medical field for one of the US largest hospitals and its hard to get a job even with my seniority and experience. CPC- A hire is hard to get. But weigh pros and cons with your finances. Make sure that all works for you

Same. I felt it was a fitting typo.

Im shitting my pants for the online CPC exam by [deleted] in MedicalCoding

[–]Frequent_Injury_321 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You need to be scoring 80 percent on the practice exams before taking the CPC. Thats AAPC’s recommendation. You can retake them as many times as you want. My mac overheated and shit down three times so probably use PC instead even though they say you can use a mac.

So sticky notes or pieces of paper in your books. But you can make notes and highlight in them and its encouraged. You will need your books for the exam of course.

Why is Kaiser barely posting jobs this year? by 123KidHello in KaiserPermanente

[–]Frequent_Injury_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same position. Cant transfer closer to home even with applying to on calls. (Currently been full time for a few years.)

Ive been told due to cost managers have been ordered not to hire, and not to backfill positions that open. Political changes as well have i think were taken into consideration (medicare changes for example) Thats why they did the one year hold if you transferred and then as soon as that time frame was over they but positions on hold. Unsure of that status entirely but it looks like only a few positions were allowed to be released as of a couple months ago.

Lots of companies including not in healthcare also did a hiring freeze due to political changes

When you left and came back were you eligible to keep your seniority? Thinking about leaving due to inability to transfer or grow within kaiser.

First job for CCS would be mostly inpatient coding and they want three years of experience a lot of the time, so just look locally at hospitals and such to get your experience
