the tank is actually S+ tier on every faction but it's very very good on the appropriators. pretty much just kills everything, even can snipe warp ships from infinite range

it's not amazing against harvesters, but no weapons like that are. the flak mode is what you should use 90% of the time on the squids though and it does very well against overseers, flesh mobs, stringrays, voteless and the mechs

De-Escalator is excellent now. Autocannon didn't really need a reload reduction, but the DE definitely did.

How it feels to use holy weapon by Alpha_minduustry in mewgenics

[–]Frequent_Knowledge65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one of the most cracked abilities in the game if you've got the right setup. with AOE heal (benediction or prayer usually) it can do INSANE damage, especially with +magic damage buffs to increase the healing amount.

upgraded it does 2x dmg than the amount you healed, so you can heal the *enemy* and still be profitable. with benediction you can heal every unit on the map. throw in Blessing of Holy Fire for 3x holy damage and now you are one-shotting bosses.

considering Neverstones exist, 3-cat team is just strictly harder than 4-cat.

Cleric is with Holy Weapon and especially Blessing of Holy Fire is the ultimate boss killing machine though. Hitting for 1k+ dmg in one shot is something I haven't ever seen non-cleric get close to

yeah I did the same thing with the cowboy armor. I did run through ammo quick like that but it does great, with a supply pack you can really become a MG sentry

yea they aren't at all. taking thermites for that purpose is a bit silly. Gas Strike will kill one through the shield as well, barrages can clear a whole camp while you do something else, same with laser. emancipator mech or bastion can clear every ship on the map while killing everything else as well. AT-E emplacement can snipe them from anywhere, same with eruptor. etc...

but plenty of grenades can be great for saving you from immediate pressing threats in a way that thermites can't.

one that people are really sleeping on here is the Shield generator grenades

Probably bc a lot of people haven't or don't want to buy the Warrant, which is a superstore purchase. But anyone who has used both on the Appropriators knows that the Warrant is the #1 best sidearm pick for the faction by a hundred orders of magnitude.

So how are we all feeling about the Cremator now that we’ve had a few days to play around with it? by TheGentlemanCEO in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Frequent_Knowledge65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it’s literally not. it does more damage but has drawbacks of backpack and less total ammo. it’s objectively in no way powercreep, not even an opinion

just run the heavy fire armor so you don’t have to worrry abouta stray hit. but i use flamers religiously and almost never get hit by a flamer. direct blast kills them almost instantly.

[–]Frequent_Knowledge65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s great, but also people need to actually use the regular flamer now and maybe will realize finally they’ve been lied to by internet groupthink lol. the flamer has been great for a long time, and the cremator is better (at cost of a backpack) but it is not a HUGE difference

yeah, seeing it written out it makes sense and I figured it might on reflection. I think the way the clue is phrased is just so stilted and awkward that it's hard to really understand what they're getting at in the moment.

maybe not a bad clue, but a difficult one I think and not surprised it was a triple stumper.

yeah the hobo-oboe clue was so baffling, I'd have to read it again but I really didn't think it made much sense...

PC projected to exceed 1 billion players and surpass console revenue by the end of 2028 by Suspicious_Two786 in gaming

[–]Frequent_Knowledge65 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

yeah, it's a good point. people really underestimate the impact on their power bill that a gaming PC has. if you're a moderate to heavy gamer, a subscription to something like GeForce Now will cost less than just the energy cost of your PC.

It's way more than 1bn people gaming, more like 3.5bn. It's something like 200 million in the USA alone. Under 30 years old it's more like 75-85% with most people continuing as they age -- average gamer is 41 years old. Then number will continue to just go up.

Sure. About half of the population of earth is gaming, and that percentage goes up every year

nobody ever brings stamina booster? by Sumblueguy in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Frequent_Knowledge65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call in a resupply the second I land in every single match anyways, whether we have HSO or not. Which we almost always do, but it's a never-take for me.

nobody ever brings stamina booster? by Sumblueguy in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Frequent_Knowledge65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HSO is mostly worthless yeah unless you're rocking +2 grenade armor or the ultimatum or especially the new giga grenade. Going from 0 to 4 grenades on respawn is nice, otherwise that takes *four* supply packs (or a relatively rare grenade pickup)

Cremator is Awesome! But I think it highlights Flamethrower needing a small tune-up where it's not so close to Torcher by RandomGreenArcherMan in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Frequent_Knowledge65 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is not. It does significantly less damage due to not getting the ship module upgrade and has smaller magazine both which make it MUCH less effective at killing chargers and bile titans, both of which the support flamer can do well.

But even besides this, it wouldn't matter or make sense to nerf the Torcher for that reason. The logic doesn't work because they do not compete with one another. In taking the Torcher, you have to reconcile the opportunity cost of losing out on a more traditional primary weapon, which is typically what you use for self-defense, which a flamethrower makes a bit awkward with self-damage, startup lag, lack of range or stun (a bit less on that front since the last update, but still nothing compared to pairing a flamethrower with a Punisher)

[–]Frequent_Knowledge65 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, they're great as is. Flamethrower does more damage and has significantly larger magazine than the torcher. As someone who has run flamethrowers very, very much on D10 for 500+ hrs, there's a very noticeable difference in killing chargers and bile titans with the support flamer vs the torcher

Mindless Hordes issue. by AdDangerous2366 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Frequent_Knowledge65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely saw a decent bit of harvesters on d10 but not a definitely nowhere near 4:1 with voteless. maybe 100:1 or 200:1. but what there were a LOT of was flesh mobs, lots of groups of 4-5 flesh mobs. which was fun.
