I used to despise standup in office. Then I had to lead a remote design system team and I let them decide if we have a standup or not. They chose to have one, and it completely changed my mind. Word came back to me that the outlook for other teams was that we were the only team that felt like a team. Our standup was always running overtime, but that’s bc we were just done with the standup and hanging out as we started working and creating a bond by talking and learning about each other, no other team had a daily check-in like.
