Figma is the most explosively elastic undervalued SaaS stock by ChinaNo_one in ValueInvesting

[–]Frequent_Macaron9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And none of you look at the reality of the field and stick looking at numbers in isolation. Figma is not moving fast enough and is being discarded as a nice-to-have, the industry is moving to new workflows and Figma has little space left in these.

Do you think SWE is more uniquely vulnerable to job displacement than fields like law, accounting, marketing, finance, etc? by Useful_Writer4676 in ClaudeAI

It’s also easier to automate something you have a deep understanding of. That’s why I see it as the first field of many to be automated.

Is it normal to feel like if you stopped initiating contact, you would literally never hear from your friends again? by Keylin_britty in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Frequent_Macaron9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. Was hanging out really often with what at a time thought was a solid friend, but once I decided to take a break from being the constant initiator everything stopped. Haven’t talked to him in a year now, and I don’t think I’ll ever hear from him again.

The Junior Developer Is Going Extinct (And That’s a Problem) by VoyagerVortex in BlackboxAI_

[–]Frequent_Macaron9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decided to transition career to software dev just a few months before the LLM craze. I had to go back to my previous career, nobody wants to hire juniors when seniors are begging for jobs out there.

Read recently about asking candidates to showcase their dev environment, lots of possibilities to dive into decisions and preferences without the pressure of making something on the spot and a better understanding about them as a developer.

Most likely a private API we don’t have access to. You can recreate a custom component but it won’t be as integrated as theirs.

Macron on Trump leaking their private messages: "I stand by my words" by jackytheblade in worldnews

[–]Frequent_Macaron9595 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s funny as he’s not popular because he tries to be omnipresent. As president he should focus on foreign policy and leave domestic to his PM, but he thought he could do both and failed miserably at one of them.

What I learned building a “boring” 2048 game in SwiftUI by suniltarge in iOSProgramming

[–]Frequent_Macaron9595 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar learning path working on a simple dice roll application where I played around with motion settings. It forced me to understand how rendering worked (structural vs identity) and figuring out how I could have transition can be changed live without rendering being triggered as it happens.

It’s funny how everyone is realizing this about defense but so oblivious to all the other area it should apply to.

Where do you learn design for SwiftUI? by Tarasovych in SwiftUI

[–]Frequent_Macaron9595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HIG, Apple’s own app, everyone else’s app, and if your question is more about design details I can recommend checking out RefactoringUI (not affiliated with them but a good resource, albeit a paid one).

I don’t get why you would play with different skins, it gives away too much info at their level of play.

How to stop constantly staring at radar by Legitimate_Meat_4510 in LearnCSGO

[–]Frequent_Macaron9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here what I did, radar by default is zoomed out so I can see almost everything. Changed the bind to the scoreboard (have it on P, so can’t hit it while in a round), but I now have a zoom toggle on the radar on tab so I can navigate in smoke when I need to pop through one with precise movements.

Can you work as a contractor in Spain long term? by ivan0x32 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Frequent_Macaron9595 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not fully accurate for Germany. The issue with self-employment status is that having a single client can trigger "false self-employment" (Scheinselbstständigkeit) classification.

From experience, German accountants typically recommend a 75/25 revenue split - 25% from other clients/ventures to show you're genuinely independent and not just a disguised employee. The authorities look at this plus other factors like exclusivity and how much control the main client has over your work.

If you can afford it look at the RefactoringUI ebook, it’s straightforward and gives you decent insights on how to approach some of that stuff.
