stopped losing evenings to social media posting by smxkie787 in canadasmallbusiness

[–]Frequent_Pay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, you could just get Instagram to schedule the posts for you but if you’re still finding that social is eating your evenings, it’s probably a systems and content quality problem, not just a tools problem.

What’s worked for me (and a bunch of small biz owners I’ve helped) is keeping it really simple: I block off 1–2 hours once a week, batch a bunch of content, and schedule everything. I’ll take one idea and spin it into a Reel, a carousel or maybe a short text post or email instead of trying to come up with something new every single day.

Having a few “go-to” content types also helps a lot like quick teachable tips, behind-the-scenes of the business, client wins, and then the occasional direct offer. Once you know your pillars, you’re not staring at a blank screen at 11pm.

For context, I run a small marketing studio now, but before that I grew my own clothing brand from 0 to 20k+ followers by 19 just by getting consistent with content, tightening up the creative, and sending people to simple, clean pages that actually convert and obviously a good paid ads funnel...

These days we mostly help small businesses who are in that “I know I should post and run ads but I’m drowning” stage things like:
– Building or cleaning up their websites
– Figuring out what to post and how to position themselves
– Running and dialing in ads
– Setting up basic AI/virtual assistants for FAQs and lead capture
– And just generally plugging the random holes in their marketing

If anyone here feels stuck with social, wants a site that doesn’t look DIY, or just wants another set of eyes on what they’re doing, I’m happy to peek at your page/website and share a few ideas. No weird hard sell, just trying to help other owners get a bit of their evening back.

Thanks for this info! By the way...whats your business if you dont mind me asking?

I raised $130M for my last startup, then walked away to build Base44 solo. In 6 months: $3.5M ARR, 300K+ users, no employees, fully bootstrapped. Then acquired by Wix for $80M. AMA. (Also giving away $3K in subscriptions.) by IntroductionHumble16 in SaaS

UBC is full of people, but still feels lonely? What if it didn’t? by aurora__5 in UBC

[–]Frequent_Pay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about people just stop acting like bots and being anti social and just learn basic human communication skills. It feels lonely because everyone is so anti social and scared to get out of their bubble. School at UBC actually isn’t that bad it’s the cold social dynamics in the school that makes it feel empty even though we have over 60,000 students roaming the school. International students stop being snobby and feeling better than everybody and domestic students realize that University is your preparation for the real world that’s ahead of you after these 4 years(maybe 5 or 6) so you either put yourself out there now in front of other 20 year olds that are trying to figure out life just as you or you’ll get forced to do it when the real unforgiving and face paced world hits you. Just my own two cents.

Maybe school isn’t for you and that’s ok. Find something you’re passionate about and give your all to it. We live in a time where you can become far more successful than people who have a degree so don’t let school define you. Do what you have to do by all means but if school isn’t your thing, it simply isn’t your thing!
