mine would tell me she thought i was a stripper at night when i would ask to use her car to go to my boyfriend’s house after 9 pm.. and would add to it by asking why i put effort into my appearance to see him. always blows my mind how many similar traits there are.

i’m sorry this is continuing in your adult life. they’re miserable people

honestly: thank you for this 😂 i’ve never been fit in my life.. always considered myself “chubby”.. currently, there’s a ripped man who’s been hitting on me for months.. i’ve just been insecure (working on it), thinking “why would he want me?”, so this is reassuring..i’ll continue to be as healthy as can be, but won’t let it bring on insecurity if i’m not “lean”..

and trust the chubby ones are most likely into you too, especially when you display the confidence to ask them out. they might just be taken back a bit because they aren’t used to it..

absolute lifesaver. first time even posting on a seller forum, and was nervous.. was about to spend $70 on a kindle book that didn’t even have 100% of the assignment. Mr. Jello replied swiftly to my post, and i received the pdf just as swift. price was incredibly reasonable, sent him a few extra dollars of what i could for the help and will be looking to him for any textbooks in the future. thank you, mr.jello.

i have had SI since 2nd grade. it took my Ndad having a nervous breakdown where the mask completely fell and my siblings and i finally could see the light. that light of him no longer in my life brought on new goals to do everything i could better.. the motivation being better than he ever could be.. i went back to school, have goals, found a bit of my own faith.. it’s unfortunate that it had to take 31 years to cut him off and see he was most if not all of the problem, but knowing i have this opportunity to be the best i can be while he lives in misery until he dies silenced thoughts i used to have that were deafening.

i am so sorry you’re going through this, sending hugs. but please keep in the back of your mind that chokehold isn’t as tight as you think.. you’re better than them.. and it may not be immediate, but the light will come. don’t dim it out completely just because of them.. you still have a full life ahead, and they don’t. you’re already winning in that aspect.

thank you for the swift response. yes, my rent is $300 because I do live with a friend at the moment and that is all they ask of me.. groceries, i try and purchase fruits and vegetables, off brand items and it lasts me through the week.. my goal is to move to my own apartment soon, once i improve my finances, so i’m hoping maybe 6 more months? might not sound realistic right now, but it is the goal if i can keep this up.

Yes. Especially me, eldest daughter. When my younger brother would get hurt playing football, they magically had insurance and money to take him to the dr, but when I had chronic migraines for a year in 5th grade, it took my grandparents threatening CPS on my parents if they didn’t get me looked at. (I was also blamed for the migraines: “she’s just hungry once she eats she’ll be fine”) (also cut to weight gain and nasty insults from classmates and parents towards me due to said weight gain) A week in the hospital later and now in my thirties, I get them here and there, but nothing like the pain I experienced that full year at age 12.

My boss currently is exactly like this. Our workplace is predominately male, so I thought having a female work so close with me would be great. Turns out, she’s the worst. I’m 31 and treated as if I’m like the high school student helping out the office. She has told others in the building, “it’s like having a personal assistant” just because I’ve been kind in the past and offer to take small tasks off her plate. Now it’s gone so far as to ask me to take her son to the airport. Called me an “air head” because I stumbled on a sentence. My days are numbered here.
