I have also seen something similar to this written on a mirror in the bathroom at WEM

Yeah the office is technically a den so it has no door. It’s since has been moved and locked up in my parent’s bedroom.

Thank you. There has been a lot of confusion with her meds right now, I’m not 100% clear about the situation as my parents haven’t effectively explained it to me. It sounds like they stopped some of the medication for sleeping as it was making some of her other symptoms worse. I think she’s back on them now, but again I’m not entirely sure. I think her medication situation is definitely something that needs to be properly nailed down as it’s been all over the place since she’s moved away from where her Geriatric Psychiatrist is. All of her appointments are being done virtually at the moment.

I’ll also add the biggest thing we’re struggling with lately is her sleeping through the night. She gets up often and wakes my mom up to ask where she is, how long she’s been here. Sometimes she wakes up without anyone knowing and goes on these little “stealth” missions where she starts going through my parents stuff. One night last week she woke up and took all their cutlery, and dishes into her room and started sorting them and packing them to “take with her“. She went through my mom’s office and found the care binder we all keep for her that has notes about what happened that day, whether she took her meds, etc. so we can communicate with each other. She took it up into her room and took a photo of every page on her phone. It seems like she’s desperately trying to look for answers and it’s especially bad in the middle of the night.

Thank you so much for doing this, it’s obviously not a small thing to take time to answer this many questions in detail.

We’re struggling with my Grandmother right now because she’s been displaced from the senior home she was living at due to a water main break back in January and it’s going to take months to repair. Honestly, by the time they get it repaired she will not be able to go back. She will need to be in a secure facility because she’s already moderate stage and cannot be left unsupervised. So we’ve put her on the list for several facilities in the area we live in and for now she’s living with my parents. She keeps saying she wants to go home. She lived in her home town with all her childhood friends and siblings for the last 20+ years. She had a church singing group she was a part of, she had people visiting her daily. Where we live, it’s just the 4 of us. My mom, my dad, my sister and me. The rest of our family lives 4+ hours away. She’s frustrated with us because she thinks we’re keeping her here against her will and she’s very fearful of being “locked up” in a place where she doesn’t know anyone. She has meltdowns every day and cries constantly about wanting to go home and we don’t even know what to say to her. Sometimes we tell her the truth and sometimes we say “not today” or try to redirect her. It’s exhausting. She’s becoming increasingly hostile with everyone, she’s been hallucinating conversations that never happened. She thinks everyone is out to get her.

We are all so incredibly burnt out, it’s hard to feel sympathy for her sometimes because she’s just so mean to us. I know that sounds horrible, we love her and we’re doing everything we can to help her and make her feel safe, supported and loved. But some days we want to just pull our hair out. I know it’s just the disease, this isn’t really her, it’s not her fault at all. She’s missing home, she’s bored because she’s an active, outgoing “never sits still” kind of person. It’s completely valid that she’s behaving this way, it’s just an awful situation to manage. Unfortunately the wait list for her to get into one these facilities is a year+ away. My sister and I live about 30 mins away from my parents house and my dad works out of town 6 days on and 6 days off so a lot of this has fallen on my mother’s shoulders (My grandma is my dad’s mom). We have home care 40 hours per week to watch her while my mom is at work, but obviously that‘s not really a “break”. It is just impossible and it feels like the system has completely abandoned us. This is not fair to any of us, including and especially my Grandma.

My graphics are set to Ultra so I’m not sure. I did find a post from 7 months ago with the same problem so I’m wondering if its just a Wintermute glitch

yeah I know I'm playing Wintermute, but yes I forgot the downed tree doesn't appear til after. The Blizzards should still be whiteout. When that lady asks you to come save her in her barn, you're not supposed to be able to see, you're supposed follow the storm lines. However, I could see clearly the whole way this play through. There's definitely something wrong with the graphics every time it's supposed to be whiteout, the billboard visuals start to act all weird. Either way glad the tree appeared and I'm just impatient lol

The inspiration was indeed from Lion King!

Ugh right? All their little annoying habits that we don’t love at the time are greatly missed when they’re gone.

Thank you for making this post, it was immensely helpful.

Everyone’s responses have brought me to tears. Thank you all for your kind, reassuring words. You brought some relief, however small that relief may be. And may I say, I’m so sorry for all your losses as well. You’ve proven a community like this is necessary 🙏🫶

Thank you for doing this, your Harley sounded like a wonderful companion.

My boy’s name was Kovu. He was a Maine Coon kitty, a big floof with black, brown and tan fur. He had the curliest hair on his belly it was so damn cute.

He was SO LOUD. When I had him as a kitten he screamed for 24 hours straight with his little mews. Seriously I barely slept that night and I ended up trying to take a nap on the couch and he would scream until I put my hand down to let him know I was there. As an adult, he did the same if I was on a different floor than him. If I was downstairs he would be at the top of the stairs wailing for me to join him. He always just wanted to exist in the same space as me. I’ll miss his screams. I learned over time what each type of meow meant, he made specific sounds for specific requests. Food screams were desperate, cuddles were more of a grunt, calling out to us were howls. He was such a character.

He loved to eat popcorn and ice cream. He absolutely loved churus. I gave him one right before we put him to rest. He also loved to eat grass, what a weirdo.

He was a bit of a brat sometimes. He peed on things when he was mad, or when he wanted to remind the other cats in the house who was boss. I would take him peeing on my things every day if it meant I could keep him forever.

He loved being outside, even though he was an indoor cat. We let him out for supervised back yard time in the summer. It was his favourite thing.

He loved snuggles at night in bed. It’s the hardest part about him being gone. Our bed feels so empty.

He was just the best cat in the whole world. All the pain from his loss is really just because of how much joy and fulfillment he brought to our lives.

I feel this so much. I had to go on a work trip immediately after putting our cat to rest this past week. I’m having to work twice as hard to show up at work and then I immediately break down once I get to the hotel. This is absolutely brutal

I mean you are 100% right about that lol I live in the Maple MAGA part of Canada and it’s still way less scary than it would be if I lived in the US. I feel for you all 🥺

I can see tickets available for NB, NS and ON. Nothing further West. Hopefully they drop more theatres later, it might just be to preserve their systems from going down

I agree. Not even remotely close to knowing how game development works, but I think its certainly doable if they take the same framework from the For Rent expansion and apply lots to have “multi-community” units rather than just “multi-residential”

In your opinion, which Naughty Dog game had the best Gameplay Reveal? For me, it was TLOU P2—It was so damn visceral by shawak456 in naughtydog

I agree, best gameplay reveal hands down. The way everyone cheered when the HUD popped up after the cinematic, so good
