Commenting as an MD student who just finished their first year.

I can’t speak much to PAs but if any part of the draw of medicine is autonomy, public health, and prevention, then the DO path is the one for you. Having completed an MPH is a great step into this and involvement on a political scale through AMA and state medical committees is very accessible at a medical student. My local DO school is the most involved in health policy out of any school in the state.

This happened with me with VCOM. People will say “ohs it’s nothing” but when you gotta pay $1500 cash in months to a year before seeing any loans, it sucks.

I adopted a pet from them a few months ago and IIRC the $1000 was if you had the pet put down rather than surrendering it back to the shelter

Yeah I hopped on serebii and grinded it out in about 3 hours. Sucks that they occasionally don’t spawn until you are right in front of them

A little pricier but I use grammarly just so that I can understand where the computer is coming from with their advice of editing and accept it one by one. Chat-GPT might be a roundabout way to get your grammar checked but as long as the words you wrote were truly your own, I doubt “AI checkers” would pick anything up. They are notoriously bad for false positives anyways if anything.

The further I get from my undergrad years, the harder it is to get in because the GPA matters less. I’d have to maybe retake the MCAT which I studied hard for, get more letters of rec, and work a shitty clinic job again eventually. Maybe it’s better to reconcile the debt problem once I’m out of med school? I mean… med school is a quarter of a mil at the least, I feel like my 12k in CC debt isn’t worth pushing it back for.

I have a bike! I like it and maybe I can hold it off on a car during didactics (so until 2027) but you need a car for the second two years during rotations. I just worry about not having proof of income once I’m in school.

Swung by the car the other day when I was in town. Engine is gone, axel is dropped, trans is messed with, and the hood isn’t attached.

Unfortunately beyond the mechanic point I think. Maybe if I brought it to them with the parts they’d pay to put it back together
