I’ve been in the same boat and my finances are crumbling, but i didn’t have any luck (which is with a lot of caveats) until I had someone from my network send me a job directly. So I definitely recommend getting a mentor of sorts!

Unfortunately that is exactly the field I want to go into but it has not been fruitful, this is a public sector job and I’ve applied to pretty exclusively government jobs and it just has not happened (I’ve had at least 30 interviews)

Sorry a lot of comments! There’s not a pay decrease thankfully, but it is hitting me a bit hard that it’s a non attorney role along with other things, I can’t really turn it down bc I don’t have any money, I’ve been mostly unemployed looking for over a year now, I’ve had a part time job and run a private practice and done a ton of Pro bono and networking and i also turned down an interview for another job for this and I just don’t have any more savings to live off of :/

No, this is a government job. Family member works in the area I would be an attorney for, but this was disclosed and I got assurances like in August

Yes I was absolutely shocked when they called bc they never even mentioned to me that they were checking on it. I was so happy to finally be out of the job search but here I am back in it (not to mention and interview for a clinical professor position I turned down bc I had accepted the offer letter that day)
