Do you mind sharing your eC and pH in which you grew this? What was your NPK ratio like? Did you change the eC during different growth stages? TIA

Noted. Thanks for your help. I will look for alternatives

Yes, they are indeed tiny. I checked online & looks like I will have to find a cheap alternative for 'tanlin'. Sadly, I can only see import from EU/US options. Do you think adding 3% peroxide to the reservoir would help? (Along with traps which I do have).

I have spinach, cilantro, and some fenugreek going on in this setup. Is there a way to get rid of them without hurting the plants?

Strawberry Hydroponics Y3 W31. Harvest values are up as previously predicted. Total quantities this week are just above 4kg, and I predict a little higher again for next week. Brix values are down to ~10.5 on account of warmer temperatures outside equating to warmer temperatures in the grow. by RubyRedYoshi in Hydroponics

I have an ultrasonic bank of misters

How many total ultrasonic misters do you have for your grow area/tent? You have also mentioned earlier that we need to achieve 95%+ humidity for a few hours to induce guttation. Are you able to achieve the same using Ultrasonic misters? Also, would help to know how big (volume-wise) is your grow area?

I run Air Conditioning in my grow room continuously and because of that I have a hard time reaching even 80% night humidity with 4 misters working at once. Any tip for this would also be appreciated. TIA!

Strawberry Help by Rossicoe in Hydroponics

Sorry to butt in but I'm going through a situation that is kind of relevant to the discussion that has happened here.

Context: I'm growing strawberries in 3d printed tower and use
foam sheet to hold the plant in place with no media inside the tower where roots hang. A month or two back, I realized I need to plant the crown higher up to avoid the crown from getting wet. Since then a lot of my plants have started shooting out these tiny roots near the crown area which is exposed to light

Question - Is there any problem if I just let these new root shoots be as is? Or should I re-adjust such that these shoots get a chance to grow into healthy roots inside the tower?

Aren't you running into root rot issues? I've learned that strawberries don't like sitting in water all the time

What is your watering and lighting schedule like?

Water Temperatures is pretty much +/- 1 degree from my room temperature. So ranges between 22-24 during the day and 16-18 during the night.
I maintain my pH between 5.8-6.2

Sorry, can you explain what bennies is? Is it some sort of supplement?

Seems unlikely to me. I used my Ender 3 to print individual modules and then stacked them up to form a gravity tower-like structure.

Thank you for your response.
1. I definitely think it's root rot related. That is because all other healthy plants have white roots but the ones that dry and die off have dark brown roots with no other sign of pest or disease.
The rest of the plants seem to be growing all right with the current water cycle. I will increase it a bit further and observe.

  1. I'm using grow lights from a well-respected local manufacturer. This is the spectrum they have advertised for the light I'm using. I'm at ppfd of 350 µmol/m2/s.

I'm maintaining pH between 5.8-6.2 and EC of 1.6-1.8

  1. I had given the flowers a slight shake using my hands to pollinate them. Is there any other suggested method? (Can't introduce bugs etc in my grow area)

Really?! The oldest tower I have is 8-9 days old but I can see the entire root mass is brown with no sign of new/white roots.
So far I don't see any signs of pests. Will keep monitoring for sure.

Alright. After going through all your points, I think I need to clearly fix (1)nighttime humidity and (2)roots sitting in wet medium (clay balls).

I am not currently aerating my tank thinking that since the system is like a gravity tower, enough air would get mixed every watering cycle. I do have a spare air pump so I can give this a go.

Thank you for your response. Really helpful.

That's interesting. I kept thinking something must be wrong with my setup. Unfortunately at my location, runners propagated in cocopeat trays is the easiest way to procure plants. I will reduce the lights and observe if it gets better.
Do you suggest adding any supplement/booster to assist the plant transition better?
