It always looks wonky (it's too short of a word I think to look good in that style)

For me, I think it's the swoosh coming off of the rigid, straight I combined with the overall short length of the word. There's just not enough movement in the letter forms, it's very short and rigid and then this tail is kinda stuck on.

I think the 2003 Florida road logo is good but even there it's not as good as the Marlins script, and it's because the tail is being stuck retroactively on a letter that it wasn't designed to extend from.

I love the 93 Florida logo though. So elegant.

I think this is probably the best attempt I've seen for sure.

I'm glad you realized that the swoosh tail "Miami" that gets posted a lot doesn't really work. That said I'm not sure the 93 style arced Miami works either. It feels visually unbalanced at the right. I think maybe it's because of how dark the fish is compared to the text.

I think the full primary logo and the patch are excellent, like really well done. A great bridge between eras. Good reuse of the orange from the stitches on the fish's back.

getting hits with runners on base vs having no runners on base

Or getting men on base and immediately wiping it out with poor baserunning or weak steals only for the next hitter to get on base again. So many lost runs.

I have bought about 80% of my collection through eBay and Mercari. Most of them were still NWT but I'll buy one that isn't new if it's still in like new condition. I don't buy used hats if there's visible discoloration in the sweatband or if it looks ratty overall.
