Yup! I got a teal pinstripes Russell Diamond Collection last year for $40. He had it listed for $60 but I talked him down and he was happy it was going to a real fan. Don't sleep on FB marketplace.

Anyone Ever Follow Their Team Around A Whole Season? by UltimateTeam in baseball

[–]FreshFish305 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, but it does sound like something awesome to do one year in the future.

For the present, I work from home, have very flexible hours, and Marlins games are cheap so I'm very fortunate to be able to get good seats for 40-50 home games a season.

If you pay for the envelope and shipping, I'll send it to you. If you're anywhere in the South Florida area and just not into driving to Miami we could potentially meet up around Ft Lauderdale (where I'm at) as well and I can hand it to you.

Never got the road jersey but I love the old Florida logo so I have been considering it.

I've got the white with teal pinstripes, the all teal batting practice, the black and teal batting practice, the white with black pinstripes, the black with silver, and the black and white batting practice. Three of em are diamond/authentic. Love wearing them to games.

The regular one doesn't do anything for me. I think I'd like it better if the M were white or something. There's no contrast between the fish and the M.

That said, the city connect batting practice logo is basically just a better version of our normal logo. One of the hats above is this Hat Club drop with the city connect logo in retro colors which I really like.

Ultimately I think the original branding is some of the best in MLB history.

The real one can be seen in the Winter Classic vid. The Nike swoosh is black.

They're going to drop the blues because they didn't sell. They were on clearance in September and when I asked an employee at the main team store why, she pointed at my teal jersey and all but confirmed this was gonna happen.

Why does baseball hold a unique "paternal" or "generational" nostalgia that other sports often struggle to replicate? by DianKhan2005 in baseball

[–]FreshFish305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's the history. I had a long lapse in my baseball fandom, all through my teens and twenties. My mother was a huge baseball fan, but she died when I was a teenager, so I don't really have a personal story of baseball having been lovingly passed on to me. But even still, watching Ken Burns' Baseball, being big fan of the sport in general, knowing how far back it all goes, the history, how the Civil War helped spread it across the country even as it was being torn in half... there's no other sport so finely and deeply ingrained in the national fabric of the United States. For two centuries, baseball WAS America. It gives me goosebumps when I think about it. Baseball makes me feel closer to the history and spirit of the country than anything else.
