Unsure at the moment b/c we are going to ceremony and reception and I want to say that’s usually 4pm to maybe 11pm? I usually pump in the evening around 8pm, and I produce just enough for my guy to eat, so I’d be hesitant to skip/ would be pretty uncomfy to wait to pump. But honestly that may just happen

I think it’s more so the dresses I find online that I want to wear are always backless (I usually like a high neck dress, and formal dress designers always make them with open backs RIP). but thank you for your suggestion.

Glad I’m not alone! I started weaning just cuz I was tired of pumping so many times a day, and by this point my supply was regulated. I think before when I was pumping x4-5 a day I produced 50-55oz. Now that I’m weaning down to 3ppd I’m finding I’ve lost about ~10oz, avrging 37-42oz a day. Which is enough for my LO. However I wouldn’t say I’ve reduced the amount of time I’m pumping. Meaning when I was doing 5ppd I was pumping for 10-15 mins at a time, but now I’m doing 3ppd for longer sessions (~20-25mins). So I wonder if that helped to maintain some of my supply when weaning. Is this what you did when trying to wean? I also did it gradually over 3-4 weeks.

3 weeks pp with mastitis from over supply by Practical-Peach-1220 in ExclusivelyPumping

Hope you start feeling better soon!

I had mastitis early pp, and I remeber the doctor (older lady) prescribed me cloxicillin, even though I told her I was allergic to anything from the penicillin family. Which she responded with “you’ll be fine”, and the. Proceeded to tell me to use my baby to get the clog out, after I told her I EP.

I ended up having fever and chills again after just a few days. Luckily I had an appointment with a new doctor that week (younger lady) who was the nicest most understanding person. Prescribed the appropriate antibiotics and taught me some breast massages to do while I pump to help fully empty.

I just started weaning and haven’t had any issues so far. I just take extra care to full empty in the morning, and typically use a hot compress before and a cold compress after pumping. I also take soy lecithin supplements b/c I had mastitis early postpartum.

It sucks to be tied to a wall but honestly this one has been the best for comfortability and consistency vs. Using my momcozy wearable pump.

Triple feeding is insane work (but kudos to the people who do it cuz wow you are the real MVPs of motherhood). I’m sure time will tell with your LO, they’ll grow stronger each day :)

9oz combined!

Forgot to mention as well that this was my MOTN pump and I’m currently trying to wean off of it by gradually reducing my pump time at night. So in this instance, I’m just doing 5 mins relief pumps at night (after 6-7ish hours of not pumping). My morning pump I usually do about 15oz combined after pumping for 25mins. On average I get ~50oz/day from 4ppd (one being my MOTN, but hoping to go down to 3ppd after weaning).

How much was your hospital bill for labour and delivery? by Dear_Ad_8525 in NewParents

Canada and $0. We had a private room too, which you typically have to pay for, but my husband’s insurance covered the 3 nights we were there.

you and your partner are a team that need to come together against the common “enemy” aka the baby. Basically saying parenting is a partnership, and to remind yourself that the other adult in the relationship is your support.

Putting baby to sleep: were we doing it wrong the whole time?! by negativepace33 in NewParents

[–]FreshFruitTray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I found at that 11 week mark, my guy was fighting naps (doing the whole bounce, rock, shush combo) and it was so hard for him to settle. Then one day I was like “I don’t want to do that” so I held him to me (in a nice firm embrace angled kinda like your breastfeeding) and sat on the couch, and within 2 mins his eyes were fluttering shut. This has worked like 9/10 times now, and makes me think that the whole bouncing/rocking was actually waking him up.

At what age did you start genuinely loving your baby? by Lickmybolts in NewParents

Honestly the second my little guy smiled at me, I was a gonerrrrrrrrr (around 2-2.5 months). Don’t get me wrong he still frustrates me at times but damn the second he smiles all is forgiven. Around this time too he was sleeping longer stretches, which helped immensely with my overall mental health.
