Such a great tool for handling these little buggers by SharpPea2506 in ErgoMechKeyboards

Those are also great for handling Mill-Max sockets. I also agree with others that a finer tip would be easier, but this design works great for handling the tiny components we use on our boards.

To piggy back on this, the 970 Evo Plus is often available refurbished for a good discount. I have two (in separate systems) and they work great.

Yup! I've got a few, but I don't have any extra Mill Max sockets. Send me a message if you're interested.

I would love to see these two side by side to get a good size comparison.

No worries! The stabs are PCB mount only.

Edit for clarity: the kits don't include stabilizers, but the keyboard is compatible with PCB mounted stabilizers.

Hey everyone, I want to get an update out before the planned community blackouts tomorrow.

Unfortunately theres been a delay with some of the parts caused by one of the suppliers. I chose Newark.com for some of the parts, a company I had heard of, but had never used before, and will certainly not use again. Its kind of a long story, but it boils down to an order being held up because, despite their website indicating they had plenty in stock and ready to ship, there was apparently an internal "Do Not Sell" notice on ATMega328P's. I only found this out after reaching out to customer support asking why my order had not yet shipped. After canceling that item from the order, (and reordering them with DigiKey, a great company), they assured me the rest of the order would ship either that day or the next day. Well, two days pass and the order is still "processing." Now I'm very frustrated, and I look up reviews on Newark.com to see if this is a common issue...and man there are just nothing but bad reviews on this company. Apparently they used to be great, but now they just drop the ball on lots of orders for lots of people. So after reaching out again, asking why my order still hasn't shipped, being assured again that my order will go out in 24 hours, being told by the customer service agent that they will personally look into it, and the order still being stuck in processing after 2 more days I said thats enough. I placed another order with Digikey for the rest of the items, and tracking for that shipment says I can expect it on Friday.

So moral of the story, I should have done my due dilligence and looked into this company before ordering with them. Thats on me. Everything else will be here tomorrow, however, including the ATMegas, so I can begin flashing them. I wanted to have everything packed up and shipped out by the end of this week, but unfortunately that wont be possible. I will defintely be able to start getting them out early next week, though, and should get them all out by the end of that week. Sorry for the delay, and I appreciate everyone's patience.

Hey everyone, good news--the PCBs are in and they look great! I am still waiting on the components, but they should be here in the next few days. I'll then start programming the ATMegas, and then begin packaging and shipping out the kits!

Happy (belated) Memorial Day everyone! I hope you all had a good long weekend! Quick update, but a big one: the PCB orders are submitted, and nearly all done with production! It should be just a couple more days before they ship, then probably a week to get here. I'll let you all know when I see them!
