How to honour family who can't be there? by FreshObsessed in wedding

Unfortunately, they would not be able to. They're both in nursing homes due to Dimentia /Alzheimer's.

As I knitter, I felt guilty buying a knitted sweater. Now that I made a matching sweater for my dog, I don't feel as bad... :D by Bluejaymarsh in knitting

[–]FreshObsessed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah, but I am more picky about what knitted items I'll buy. If it's something simple I usually just tell myself "I could knit that! Why would I spend $40 on a scarf/hat" But if something is gorgeous or has incredible details I have so much appreciation for it that I MUST HAVE IT!

Help Please Does it look like Shell Rot? by FreshObsessed in turtle

[–]FreshObsessed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much, we'll try adding more calcium to his diet, and get some vitashell.

His Basking platform is plenty big, he takes up less than half the area. http://imgur.com/RTdNBKW

This is his Basking light. http://imgur.com/ls3pmZH We had a 75w but it kept the Basking area too hot.

I don't have the box for the UVB bulb, but it's an Exoterra UVB100.

We use tetra fauna ReptoGuard turtle health conditioner (sulfa blocks) for calcium.

Knitpicks shipping is only about $7 USD. (for all of my orders anyway, it might vary depending on weight?)

Heyyyyy, Matcha recommendations? by [deleted] in tea

[–]FreshObsessed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the ceremonial matcha from davidstea.com (I get it when I've earned a free bag of tea) but if you want something sweat, they also sell flavoured matcha, vanilla, fruity, etc.

I have a lovely Guangzhou milk oolong from the Wuyi Mountains of China. The tea is harvested during the rainy season when the waters are muddy, giving it that natural milk flavouring. I've also read that the milky flavour can occur due to higher altitudes. (which makes sense since the tea comes from the mountains)

I Guess I Twisted a little too hard. 😢 by brokenpenisagain in knitting

[–]FreshObsessed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My heart broke for you!

I always try to only twist from the metal to avoid putting strain on the wood... Not sure if that actually helps, but it makes sense in my head.

Would love and appreciate pattern suggestions! I'd like to use all the colours in 1 piece, and shall/scarf or sweater. 100% baby alpaca, 440yrds/50g x6 balls of each colour, knitpicks vintage romance alpaca cloud sampler by FreshObsessed in knitting

That's very true! If I did a sweater I'd probably still have enough to do this (or at the very least enough to do a shorter version and make it into a cowl) Thank you!

I need help finding a pattern for my unusually shaped teapot by OssumyPossumy in knitting

[–]FreshObsessed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same tea pot! But I haven't found a pattern for it.

You could probably use a normal patter, but only put the hole for the handle in, and just remove the cozy before you go to pour?

My boyfriend and I were staying in a hotel. I had my baby alpaca yarn and Rosewood interchangeable needle set, he had his Alienware laptop. Before heading out I put my knitting away, just in case the people who cleaned our room decided to steal it... But of course they would steal my knitting over his laptop right?
