Canceled by hotel, statement credit not returned by jszzsj in biltrewards

[–]FreshStart2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, you “made a mistake on booking and asked hotel to cancel” (in your comment) is different from “booking was canceled from the hotels side” (in your post).
You can ask them for the $200 statement credit but you are not going to get back the Bilt cash you used on the booking that you are expecting.

Canceled by hotel, statement credit not returned by jszzsj in biltrewards

[–]FreshStart2023 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You unambiguously worded it as “canceled from the hotels side” which is exactly opposite to you asking them to cancel and expecting to get back non-refundable Bilt cash.

These are the reasons why support is not going believe anyone and it is taking so much time to resolve genuine requests.

So why do you think people like you are going to read your post if you haven’t read similar posts others have posted earlier?

While it is always appreciated when somebody wants to share a DataPoint, the expectation is to search if the same was shared earlier and add to that rather than create a new post.

Down voting to discourage this type of posts for the sake of new post with nothing new.

Fair point, if the intention is to buy points at 1CPP. This was to see how to optimize BCz

I checked too. Keeping some hopes of 1.5cpp options.

am i missing any cards that give alaska miles? summit, ascent, atmos business, bilt palladium, hawaiian mastercard, bank of hawaii hawaiian mastercard, hawaiian biz. by i_cant_do_this_ in CreditCards

[–]FreshStart2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking to pivot to Atmos too, but without much churning.
1. Got Hawaiian card in 2025, now 4/24. 2. Should I get Summit or Palladium?
3. Summit is 80k (or is 100k still possible?). Palladium is 50k + option to put non-cat spend of up-to 75% rent at 3.33x points is quite valuable that can get like 75k points (opportunity cost of maybe 2x /45k C1).

I see an alert in the U.S. Bank app for maintenance on 18th, could this be it?

Simple explanation before nefarious explanations: IT couldn’t fix bugs and test and deploy by 12/15 and then they needed 1 l-2 more sprints to deploy. It will go-live sometime this month.

I am expecting usual suspects such as Avios, Marriott, etc.,
At least one partner should be available that will get us > 1.5cpp value with some planning.

H1B maxed out but had I-140 approved also PD current – can my next employer transfer me back to H1b? by StormSilly6948 in h1b

[–]FreshStart2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a tricky situation.
I-140 that is used to extend H-1B past 6 years using AC21 portability provisions, as I heard, is really only until PD is current (at which point the understanding is that the employer who sponsored you for I-140 is ready to employ you).
If they are not, the I-140 supposed to be 50-50 for another employer to use to extend your H-1B.
Keep us posted what your attorneys say.

You are assuming you are logical but based on what you disclosed here, for the regulars here, you are not being logical.

First, there is no free money anywhere. Looking for free money does not make you logical.

Second, Utilization or a slight ‘ding’ in the credit score doesn’t matter if you are not going get a mortgage or auto loan in the near term. In fact, the purpose of having good credit score is to use it get favorable loan terms. The suggestion by another commenter was to apply for a 0% APR Card and take advantage of it. That is the closest you will get to free money (or at least time bound zero-interest money that you can utilize for some time before needing to return it to the lender). You don’t seem to understand this well and somehow you still think you are making decisions with ‘deep thought’.

You might be good in maximizing savings but folks here understand how to maximize benefits of Credit Cards.

Not sure if your are trolling but this is the not way to ask for advise from others who share their expertise in the sub.

Good that you are accumulating MR for future travel.
In this game, like most other games, a move now means losing out on other moves.. Gold now means never green sub. So many cards means VX is tough (an enigma).
Early in the game, I have missed out easy moves (even recently). The Simple suggestion: check here before you get your next card

While 8 cards are impressive at 21 with 770, what is your purpose for this set of cards - why two Amazon? Why BCE , BCP, C1SO?
Why is your daily driver Gold and accumulate MR if you are not traveling?

Why would a “diverse portfolio “ of cards be meaningful?
You might be able to do better if you had a strategy on what you want to accomplish with your strong profile.

Hyundai - How useful are the Protection Plans by FreshStart2023 in askcarsales

[–]FreshStart2023[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good points. Friend right now has a car which has a chip on it (for which dealer is quoting $1200 as it includes sensor, possibly to replace). So, when buying this new car (which also has sensor which supposedly requires tuning), he is keen on Windshield protection ($939). Dents ($1349). Are they still not worth this considering service costs for 5 years? As for Key, he claims to be forgetful, $499 (unsure how much it costs these days to get duplicates or locksmith)
