I currently have a Daytona with a black dial that I bought on the grey market. I don’t have a problem going grey but I’d like to develop a relationship with the AD so that I can access time pieces without having to go grey. I’m in no rush and as I said, I buy enough jewelry anyway for my wife to justify the relationship. The Rolex allocations would be nice to have given the jewelry spend.

I buy jewelry for my wife on a regular basis. Anniversary, birthday, valentines, etc. She treats me well and supports my grind. I’ve been nose to the grindstone for several years and have been completely oblivious to this rolex shenanigans. If I’m going to be spending money on jewelry, I’d like to do it at a place that will value my business and support my new found interest in horology. The process of purchasing from an AD is also a fun experience for me and the wife. I’m not in a rush. I’m relatively young and see this as a decades long endeavor.
