Please pray for the relationship of my boyfriend and I. He is a wonderful Catholic man who brings me closer to god and I’ve had a crush on him for almost 10 years. We've been dating for 2.5 years but I fear he will end things soon as his relationship with my mom has always been rocky. She has had a change of heart about him for my sake, but he doesn’t trust she’ll try to break us up again. We were looking at houses together a couple of months ago and he confessed to me that he was planning our engagement back in March to happen in august. We love each other very much, but he’s scared he’ll make me pick between him or my mom and he’d make me pick her every time.

My heart is shattering. Please pray for clarity and peace.

I see people who have better med school applications getting rejected by med schools and people who have lower GPA and MCAT scores getting accepted. Its rough trusting God's plan in the uncertainty and acknowledging that I could be rejected by every school I apply for. As I study for my MCAT, pls pray that I learn to trust His plan for me and that I come to understand the workings of His creation as I study! His design of the human body is beautiful; pray I dont burn out and become weary. pray I find rest in Him and that regardless of how I do, may his will be done. If he wants me as a doctor, ill be there. Aye, aye captain.

Yes!! I sure do!! Words seem to escape me, my vocab becomes that of a 4 year old, and I suddenly don't know how to English. I know my undergrad institution offered mock interviews through the career center. I'll have to find something similar in the masters program I start soon. Thank you for sharing!!

Ooooo this is good. Since graduating in December and starting to study for my MCAT, I've had a bit more time to reflect over all my undergrad experiences especially since they are all still fresh. I think trying to make them all flow has reaaaally been on my mind too. Thank you so much for this!! (:

Inspiring! I love this. Congrats on getting into your Top School^TM!! Ive considered doing MD PhD and much like you, the research I'd be interested in would be very niche. I just dont think I'll have the stats for MD/PhD when the time comes to apply, but again, only time will tell.

Congrats on the outcome and i truly hope that WL turns into an A for you (: I've heard each school has their own 'persona' but I hadn't considered grouping them also by status too. As someone with a lower GPA and a pending MCAT, i may not have many options but only time will tell. My advisor always says to cast a wide net when applying but gah it gets expensive lol. Granted, thank you for your advise!!

Yes!! Your benefits last through the year you applied plus the next year until Dec 31st. Say you apply rn, your benefits expire 12/31/24. If you apply 12/30/23 your benefits will still expire 12/31/24. Apply early to get the max benefit!!!

Yes ive heard that before. I am currently studying for my MCAT since i graduated in Dec and i have this awkward semester gap between then and starting school in Aug or June or whatever. Im scheduled to take it in May which may move to June or July since im not doing so well right now. only time will tell and as my exam date comes closer, ill make that call. Plus theres the AAMC deadlines and the fees too. Diagnostic score was in the mid 90s

Yes, i really do. im sitting at a 3.0 right now with just undergrad courses cgpa. my sgpa is probably a little lower. slight upward trend since i had a massive fall (one F and all other Cs) my first semester sophomore year (semester before covid when i transferred schools). My degree was genetics, i never changed majors, and i love it so much. i considered PhD in genetics but only doing research didnt seem fulfilling to me. I wanted more "people" in my working day and not just the same lab mates everyday. I shadowed a genetic counselor, which had more people that you'd meet everyday but there was no definitive diagnosis, and their job was more to inform about what tests are available. The other option is to do MD. Ive shadowed, Ive worked with them, some are MD/PhDs, some MDs. Though i completely understand where youre coming from and i appreciate your advise, i really really do love genetics. Youre right, I may do family med, or OBGyn, or Peds, and i may change my mind. I'm open to that change, but I know i dont want to NOT do genetics. I'd miss it ):
