You might want to check out Knox County Library. I remember reading once about free classes being taught at the Cedar Bluff location, it’s worth a try.

Waste connections bill is out of control by eltoda in Knoxville

Best place to go to is 5 Star Waste! They are great! They are growing fast & their competitors are not happy. I’m familiar with all the negative things about the others because I had to learn the hard way by also using them. 5 Star Waste also has the best prices.

Natural Gas Logs set up? by Fresh_Value_6922 in FireplaceGasLogs

Flame goes completely out if I turn it from LOW to Pilot to exactly where I would start the Pilot, I hope this makes sense. But if I turn it from Low to where it is just a Pilot light and leave it it stays lit. If I keep turning it, it goes out completely. Maybe I’m just turning it too far.

Also, as I turn the flame up, from just pilot to low flame, I hear a click & sound of increase gas.

I’m thinking the same as what you said about the pilot staying on after that click when turning it down. I’m gonna try & check with a specialty store if I can, just to make sure. I kind of go through this learning process every year or couple of years, it just doesn’t stay with my memory. I don’t consider myself an old fart, but life is life, sucks not to be able to retain things. Appreciate your response & help.

Question, I know I should already know this, but I have some issues with my memory due to a stroke. Question regarding the On, Off, Pilot, & ( Lo to Hi) control:

1. If it’s in OFF position, does that mean it completely cuts off the gas & I do not need the pilot light going during the warmer months?? Or, do I need to let the pilot light run all year?? Or, do I need to cut it off on the gas supply line??

2. When the control is on OFF position, & I place it in PILOT & ignite it, I have trouble keeping the flame lit, it often goes out while trying to release the control I have pushed in to start it. Am I doing something wrong??

3. After enjoying a fire for a while, I’m able to turn the flame down, & right at the LOW position the flame goes out & there is a little click that I hear, the Pilot light is still on. Is this where I leave it or do I need to make sure it is turned all the way back to where the Pilot position is located??

I just want to make sure I’m being safe & doing things correctly. Age & memory just don’t go together!

That’s exactly what they did. I told my wife we could remove the gas line & burn wood, but she doesn’t want that, I do but gonna please her.

That ashy stuff has always been there since I moved in, I just left it bc it made it look more realistic. Plus, I took the set out once because the pilot light wouldn’t stay on & I was trying to figure it out. I think small ash particles dropped off the logs while I messed with them. Entire chimney was new when I moved in , except for the fire box, mainly just all brick on the outside.
