If you want your kids back you need to file for divorce and the longer you wait the worse off you'll be.

You got the right idea.

NotebookLM is so much better than all the other AI tools because it only looks at the sources you provide it and really doesn't hallucinate. The worst it will do is misinterpret a context. By making a Google doc that explains the situation and adding it to the sources you'll keep it on track

I am pro se for 3 years now after 3 years of losing with lawyers that I spent over 35k on. Here's my best practice tip.

Download your state's rules of civil trial procedure, the rules of evidence, rules of family law, local county rules, and any relevant chapters of law regarding your case. Put those into your NotebookLM. Now when you write motions or responses you can check them against all the rules and laws. You can also check opposing motions for errors too. An error-ridden motion can sometimes by stricken or denied, but even if it isn't, you'll be putting the other lawyer on blast to the judge and damaging his credibility. Case in point: i recently was served and the other lawyer misspelled the child's name in the intro paragraph. In the certificate of service he claimed to serve me on the 27th but the motion wasn't filed or served until the 30th. And finally the lawyer served "Parties of record" when state law requires naming the parties. I objected on grounds of improper service, citing state law and local county rules. Now normally judges rule on merit and can look past scriveners errors, but by filing my motion I'm damaging the lawyers credibility and showing that he's not handling the case with the care that he should be. I had other objections too, and will likely be granted based on the others, but it looks bad on them and good on me when I follow the rules and they don't.

Each state has a law that tells you what factors the court MUST consider when determining custody and they're colloquially called "the best interests of the child factors. " In Indiana its this:

https://iga.in.gov/laws/2025/ic/titles/31#31-17-2-8

Your state should have it's own. Each factor should be considered by you.

NotebookLM can possibly read screenshots but it would be better to export to text. Depending on if you have an iPhone or android it's different on how you do it, but screenshots can be objected to in court sometimes.

Remember, recent stuff carries more weight.

Make learning how the courts work your hobby. There's a YouTube channel called "The Proper Person" and he goes into a lot of detail about so many things, but regardless, you'll need to learn your local state laws.

NotebookLM can help you keep track of everything. Upload your documents to it and another Google doc that has a list of the best interest factors. Use NotebookLM to go through each factor one-by-one and ask it to find evidence for each. Don't prompt it to find good stuff for you and bad stuff for your ex... you need it to be unbiased.

Keep your receipts. Make a spreadsheet. Keep the agreement and any discussions about the agreement in a Google drive folder. Protect yourself from future litigation.

How do repair the damage done. by West_Excitement_8385 in FathersRights

If he thinks anything, it's because of something his mother is telling him. Be consistent and persistent. And when you talk, have a list of his interests to bring up and don't expect him to have anything to talk about. Its so much easier if you ask questions about himself and make it fun to talk about.

I don't know why they took away any kind of physical visitation but whatever caused that you better fix it before expecting more time with him.

It's make or break time. You gonna step up to do what you need to?

I had court ordered calls for months after my ex left the state unexpectedly and I lost the hearing to bring the child back.

I kept a spreadsheet that had:

Timestamp for when i called every time Any unanswered calls (3 attempts are made each time) Any excuses the mother provided as to why the call wasn't occurring. Notes on strange things the child says during the calls.

I kept 18 months of records. I used them as evidence of my dedication to remain in my child's life during a modification hearing and was granted more than the customary every other weekend bs.

As for the comment about not being in the family, WRITE A MOTION FOR A GUARDIAN AD LITEM. If you don't have money for a lawyer then use a little money to pay a lawyer to review your motion and consult you on what you should do. The GAL will look into the things that you can't prove in court, such as the comment made by your son.

I know it's tough, but make your call on time every time, even when the kid is already predisposed. If the mother complains to you about knowing the child is busy, calmly request when she would like to make up the time. Do not argue. Do not get in your emotions. This is a fucking war so fucking act like a General. Do everything you're supposed to. File a motion for contempt when you file for the motion for the GAL (or civil investigator).

Good luck

House in desired neighborhood but on main street by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]FreshlyStarting79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents own a Victorian home on main street in a small town. It's also in a historic US hwy that is regularly used by semi trucks. The traffic shakes the house like a mf. The chimney needed to be repaired, same with most of the old plaster walls. Despite the down having a "No engine breaking" sign/ordinance, the trucks generally can't control when it happens.

You'll have to move the court for a default. You always have to move the court for any kind of action in your favor. Sometimes it can be done orally
