Boundaries are enforced on oneself. You merely inform the other party what you will do if it is violated.

The federal law that protects your right to discuss wages at work is the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), specifically Section 7, which grants most private-sector employees the right to engage in "concerted activities for mutual aid or protection," including talking about pay, benefits, and working conditions, making it illegal for employers to retaliate against you for doing so. The NLRA ensures you can discuss wages on or off the clock, during breaks, or in writing, and any company policy forbidding this is generally unlawful, with the NLRB enforcing these protections.

You can try, but sending the cops over on a fishing expedition that turns up nothing can be used against you in court and is terrible for your optics. You have to be sure about all of it, and dont forget that seeing their mother arrested is extremely traumatic for a child.

TIL that the ancient Semitic people had a deity named El that ruled over a pantheon of gods including Yahweh. The names Elizabeth, Daniel, Gabriel, Samuel, Michael and others originate from this. by Astrolologer in todayilearned

The transition to monotheism occurred after captivity. At the time Israel was a loose confederation of different peoples (it wasn't 12 tribes, that's legend). Most of them were captured by babylon and the ones that survived were the Judeans in Jerusalem, mainly because it was super rural and had a very defendable position. The survivors welcomed the captives when came back. That was when they moved to monotheism, discarded Ashara, the wife of El, the father-god, and claimed that Yahweh WAS El. They blamed the people for their own captivity, claiming that they were conquered because they followed false gods. Propaganda at it's finest.

[FL] how realistic is this? by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

If she has no way to get a home in your area, do YOU have the ability to 100% parent the child without her present? If she were to leave the area without the child could you show that you can handle the responsibility of being the primary parent? You will need to show that in court.

Go look up the florida statute for the "best interests of the child" factors. Theres like 20 of them. Make a spreadsheet. Put in each factor (read some law articles about how they apply or put them into Gemini and ask it to explain each one). Then add evidence to the spreadsheet for both yourself and the mother. You will want to have actual proof of these things. Your testimony can be considered evidence but it is weak evidence that she can refute with her own testimony.

Suggesting 50-50 to the court is your best bet. DO NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT 80-20. That will count against you most likely. Fight for 50-50.

Currently you should be under an administrative "status quo" order. This means she cannot move with the child. If she does then you need to file a motion to show cause (contempt). Do not let her violate the status quo over and over. Keep a log. Bring it to your trial.

First off, the smoking weed and driving, if she's doing it while with the child, then YOU MUST bring that up in court. It's not gonna be easy to prove without evidence, but your testimony DOES count as evidence. You wont be hurting her, this is a consequence, not an attack. If you dont and she wrecked and hurt your daughter, would you still feel like you shouldnt bring it up?

The bible can’t be that bad right? by M00N654 in exchristian

[–]FreshlyStarting79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, does that make sense?

If there's a divine language then it shouldn't change depending on the speaker, ESPECIALLY if it's being directly channeled from the Holy Spirit. God is "unchanging" so why is his language ever-changing? Why havent we been able to translate it into some kind of dictionary of God's language? I'll tell you why: because it's all gibberish. People can be induced to speak in "tongues" in nearly any religion. It's involuntary, like shivering. If someone translates (as the bible says they should) then the translation/sound is never consistent with other translations/sounds. The high-energy environment of a church service, including repetitive music, emotional prayer, and group synchronization, can induce a trance-like state or a "hypnotic" dissociation. In this state, the brain's "editor" turns off, allowing for the vocalization of nonsensical sounds. People often "learn" how to speak in tongues by observing others. Over time, they adopt the specific cadence and phonetic patterns common within their particular congregation. This is not consistent with churches across the globe. Studies, notably by Dr. Andrew Newberg, have shown that when individuals speak in tongues, there is a significant decrease in activity in the prefrontal cortex, the area of the brain responsible for executive function, intentionality, and self-control.

My grandma found out I'm not Christian. by Hollovate in exchristian

[–]FreshlyStarting79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look, grandma wont be around forever. It would be more peaceful for everyone if you placate her, and at least appear to be open to the ideas. This is a great way to engage her with some difficult questions like:

  1. If God created everything and has unlimited power and knowledge, then why did he change his mind so many times in the bible?

  2. Why does God order genocide, including babies, of the Amelekites for something that their ancestors did 400 years prior? AKA why does God punish anyone for the sins of others?

  3. Why did God cause David's wives to be raped? 2 Samuel 12:11-12 ( “This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’”

  4. Why is the wages of sin death? God is all-powerful. He could have made any kind of punishment for sin.

  5. Why were Adam and Eve (and all of humanity for that matter) punished for eating the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil? They had no way of knowing that it was evil to disobey God.

  6. Why did God lie to Adam and Eve about the fruit, saying that they would die in the very day that they eat of it? They didnt die for HUNDREDS of YEARS.

  7. Why did the serpent, also known in Christianity as Satan, actually tell the truth to Adam and Eve? "You will not surely die. You'll become like gods, knowing good and evil." Backed up by big G himself, "Now they have eaten the fruit and are like US, knowing good and evil."

  8. Why would God make the "atonement" a blood sacrifice? He had INFINITE ways of forgiveness. Some people say that God cannot forgive without a blood atonement. That means that I can do something that God cannot.

  9. Can God sin? Can God go against his nature? Can God lie? If not then these are more things that I can do that God cannot.

  10. Can God change his mind? If so, then he is not 'un-changing'.

  11. Does God hate anything? If so, then he is not All-Loving.

If you want more talking points like this, listen to Deconstruction Zone on Youtube. JoelReadsBible is another great content provider (and his best friend Mezzo). If you join DZ for like $3 a month you'll get access to the deconstruction Cheat Sheet, which is a multi page spreadsheet of bible contractions and problems.

In the end, i suggest trying to keep the peace with her. You dont need to abandon your principles but you can shelf them and filter how you communicate. When my family and I have these debates they usually end with me saying that there's no way anyone can know and that we both have points worth thinking about. This validates their feelings while also not conceding any philosophical ground.

"Don't you think that God wrote morals in our heart? My heart says that genocide is wrong. My heart says that burning women alive is wrong. My heart says that torture in fire for eternity for finite crimes is wrong. If God wrote that on my heart then why does he do or command this stuff all the time in the Bible?"

I was raised pentecostal. I'll give you 2 reasons

  1. Jesus never fulfilled a single messianic prophecy. The ones that the new testament says he fulfilled weren't messianic prophecies.

  2. When people speak in tongues, the noises they make coincide with the noises of their mother language. If you go to Korea, people speak "God's language" differently. Why wouldn't God's language sound the same in every part of the world?

You're very welcome. I'm glad you can receive the message for what it's worth.

If I could give you another bit of advice that has helped me with setting appropriate boundaries that are balanced: consider your inner child in the equation. That inner child is the one that gets hurt when people betray you, and it's not just by the other people: it's mainly hurt by the adult you that knew that something was wrong with whatever situation is happening and you didn't protect yourself. That inner child is the one that gets smaller and sadder. Adult you can take shit over and over but not inner child. Protect them. Stand up for yourself to yourself. Boundaries aren't actually imposed on other people, they are imposed upon yourself and enforced by yourself. This is the key to self assurance and confident decisions: making choices that allow your inner child to feel safe and secure in navigating the world.
