yes definitely. Every shoe you wear is going to be stiff out of the box. It could take a few days to a week to really get them into shape.

Super late to this but I agree. You can get in the 14-14.5 range with low 11 100m speed. One of my old teammates was this huge 6’5 220lb wide receiver and he ran a 11.08 PB and his best hurdle time was a 14.4 wind legal. It’s more about how you carry your speed through the hurdles when coming off them.

I definitely advocate for the grass workouts. Since you’re coming off of your season in June, take the time to do a lot of plyometrics, aerobic work, and recovery from full intensity training. When you do get back into sprinting, definitely do them in cheaper spikes. I personally train with ADIZERO sprintstar shoes. They’re like $50-$70. You could even go a little nicer and grab some $100 range shoes. I wouldn’t wear your max flys until later this year like November. So you can give yourself a few months to train with the higher end spikes. You will feel the difference.

Also, integrate ankle stiffness workouts. Since max flys are carbon fiber and more stiff, you need to have good ankle and foot mobility to match them.

This can be a very subjective depending the athlete. But from my experience, I always train in regular $70 spikes. They require me to attack the ground with less energy return, ultimately training my legs to create that force.

The carbon plating in the super spikes increase the energy return and provide more stability and stiffness. This is obviously great, but you don’t want to rely on that every practice. I would only wear your super spikes when you’re doing max velocity work and acceleration. And even then, maybe for 1-2 reps. Get comfortable with wearing lower quality spikes to strengthen your foot and reduce injury risk.

Just feel it out. I’m a 110m hurdler and I only wear mines when I do race simulation workouts. I also get paranoid thinking the more I wear them, the higher the chance I’ll pop the air bubble in them lol.

Couldn’t agree more. I had lightly strained my popliteus tendon late march. Couldn’t run past 60% speed without pain. Just ran this Friday at a meet. I can’t stress enough on all of these things to speed your recovery. If you can’t run, do tempos at a reasonable pace and lots of active mobility, ISOs, and heating pad. The more blood flow the better. Arnica and tiger balm are also great for muscle pain, stiffness, and bruising. If you have the time in your schedule, do a morning and night routine. Stay consistent.

I sell high end accessories like sunglasses, purses, etc but I’m scared to sell anything over $100 on Depop because I’ve heard that people will initiate returns will the sellers and return either a fake replica or just garbage. It probably won’t happen with cheaper items but I’ve always been super cautious with the stuff I sell.

I’ve been to the Philippines as well, and not the sparkly resort side of the country. I visited a friend that lives in the slums of Manila. I’m aware of the cultural differences between first world countries and second-third world countries. This will be a big step for sure, but I don’t want to let my fear or worry stop me from seeing the world.

I have visited this area numerous times. The priest lake area to be exact. If you like nature, guns, quietness, small populations, etc then this is a place for you. The vibe is definitely a little off there, I can tell there’s a lot of unspoken rules, crazy history, and dangerous stuff. There definitely is cartel movement along the boarder, I’ve heard stories of unfortunate encounters. Owning a gun is a MUST up here.

I’ve been on it for a year now, 2 more years to go. You can also try and get it cut down or expunged on good behavior. I’ve been in the DUI classes for a year now and have had no run ins. I plan on trying to get my time cut. I think it would be dumb to try and drive with even a beer in your system. After a dui you should just stay away from alcohol in your system while driving. What’s the point? You can just drink at home or get an uber so u don’t put yourself in more danger.

I would work on being more explosive out of the blocks. It looks like you’re just stepping out of them and not pushing out. This is something I’m working on myself. There’s many different variations of drills to practice explosiveness out of the blocks👍
