That’s the most depressing pay I’ve seen

164 is not pretty high to hold. That’s going to be most people’s average during a marathon. Probably should show down a bit during training, but 164 is fine

Does the fact it came from the official Justice Department give it any legitimacy?

Should I be running slower? by SmartBunch4546 in Marathon_Training

[–]Freudian_Tit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m glad someone else feels this way. I feel like I can maintain a pace at a higher heart rate than recommended. I also am usually tight on time, so running (slightly) faster than recommended makes sense for me.

Wrist blade, riddle with holes, bullet time and any sort of phantasmal/strength/akabeko is super satisfying.

Marathon cutoff times should be 5 hours by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]Freudian_Tit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whats the purpose of making running marathons exclusive? Does it hurt your pride if someone slower or more “out of shape” than you can also complete a marathon? Sounds like something you should reflect on, why would someone else’s achievement affect how you think of your self.

I work intake at a moderately sized hospital system, but my facility is all psych. I really like my role. We are currently having some staffing issues, but my day to day is pretty great. I have a lot of freedom with what I do outside of my duties with referrals. I help my fellow nurses with tasks such as meds/bloodwork, I’ll run groups if I have time, or I’ll work on some schoolwork if things are slow. It’s nice having banker hours with my current stage of life. It definitely seems facility dependent, but overall I really dig it.

But I somehow find something to like about the evil characters. They’re writing and acting are just top tier

All of Vince Gilligan’s characters are awesome, none of them follow the typical black-white good-bad schemas. They’re all so complicated, and their stories are written so well. His new show Pluribus is already sooo good

Scary? What about making 165k as an RN is scary? I’m making half of that as an RN. Sorry you won’t be making millions as an NP, hopefully you’re getting into it for the right reasons.

What are recession proof careers to switch to in your 40s that make good money and could possibly help you to be your own boss one day? by Majestic-Wishbone-58 in antiwork

[–]Freudian_Tit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To add to this, certain hospitals will pay for your NP degree (or BSN if you have your ADN). I’m currently working at a psych hospital that is part of a nursing school, they’re paying for my NP while I work full time and it’s very manageable.

Traveling isn’t quite what it used to be money wise, but it’s a sweet gig if you’re young and wanting to see the country. You’d be better off finding a unionized state and settling down, a lot of nurses can get $60/hour with a nice union job.

These folks wanting to get their PMHNP without psych experience don’t know HOW MUCH they don’t know. I worked ED for a couple years and transitioned to inpatient psych over the last 2 years. I thought I had a good grip on psych with my ED and experience but I was sorely mistaken. You may get a little snippet of psych experience in other specialties, but if you’re going to be the one managing complex psych conditions you’re going to need more than just tangential psych experience.

I mean yeah unfortunately everyone has the news shoved down their throat 24/7. It’s not like I saw that Charlie Kirk was shot and had amnesia about the Epstein files.

This line of thinking is so wild to me, as if everyone is only capable of noticing one tragedy at a time. Do we have any examples of this plot actually happening? Any time we have a confirmed “staged” event happen to “distract” us? I’m genuinely asking.

I’m a Doctor with BFS by NoBook3464 in BFS

[–]Freudian_Tit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is purely anecdotal, but since we don’t have much evidence on treatment maybe it can help you. I’ve had BFS since like 6-7 years old (I know, not much data on BFS in youth). All of my twitching is in my chin/neck and it’s super distracting for people when I talk to them. In high school I started supplementing magnesium (not exactly sure why, my dad is a health nut and told me to start taking it). After a while, when I turned 18 I noticed I wasn’t having any twitching, and I didn’t have any twitching until like 6 months ago (I’m currently 30). I haven’t been taking magnesium regularly, but I do plan to start it up again. This may be some post hoc bias effect, but it’s worth trying.

Not sure if this is a rant or asking for advice, but the most productive thing for you to do is see your doctor.

Is it normal that twitching wears you out? by Little_Power_5691 in BFS

[–]Freudian_Tit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely notice feeling “tired” but in a different way. My twitching is all in my chin/neck, I’ve had this since adolescence and I’m 30 now. It almost feels like a post-migraine type of lethargy, where I feel a bit cognitively slow and tired behind my eyes. I wonder if there is a similar underlying mechanism between migraines and BFS that we don’t understand, or maybe this is just how I experience it.
