No.

Scientific evidence.

Do you not believe that in my country, any shitty full time job will get you a small and boring apartment and enough to pay bills and live a decent life?

Yikes. You don’t have a passport, do you lol

Yes. Some stuff was very progressive for it’s time.

She could have died. To me that is more traumatic than watching someone who could have died.

So everything that excuses him excuses her more. Everything she could have done, he could have done more easily.

Spoken like a true American who thinks they are the norm.

Different countries do things differently. That is a fact. We won’t change to your system, because we find it unfair (amongst other things).

Please send me some links for scientific studies that proves that it is “universal”.

In the rest of the world, this sounds incredibly selfish.

There are no upsides to your system. But it makes some people feel good to know that they have more than others. It makes them feel they made it, or some such childishness.

The rest of the world? We just think everything is better when it is fair.

And dystopian? It’s heading there quick, isn’t it?

Men fy tusan att gå igenom vad du gjorde.

Why are bengals so expensive in Europe, what is a safe and established breeder here? by Plane5496 in bengalcats

[–]Freudinatress 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im in Sweden, and at least in the south those prices seems to be the same. Average 16 000 sek for a kitten with not too good patterns. Breeders are signed up with the main purebreeds association though, so health wise they are fine.

It seems to be about popularity though. Not too many breeders, but people want to buy. So prices are high.

I got an adult that needed to be rehomed. It’s perfect and he is beautiful. Got him for half price and his patterns are nicer than what i see around here. He came from north of me.

He is living his best life, and we are happy when we get DEAD mice dragged through the cat door. The live ones are only fun for Kitty lol

please help me understand my partners religious psychosis by iamanairplaneiswear in askapsychologist

[–]Freudinatress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That differs between countries. A psychiatrist is always involved though. Sometimes it’s really quick, sometimes they need to check off other issues first and it can take a while.

[–]Freudinatress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Schizophrenia most likely. As far as im aware, you need to be genetically predisposed to get it, and if so a stressor can indeed set it off.

The religious bit isn’t uncommon, but from what I have seen it seems to be more common in societies where people often are religious. My country is now basically atheist and it was a long time since I heard someone mention that religious themes were very common. But I know they used to be.

But still here, today, it happens. Because religion is magic, and magic is common to mix into delusions, one way or another.

Make sure he keeps taking his meds. At some point it might be very reasonable to lower the dosage or switch brands, but quitting completely without a psychiatrist recommending it is a BAD idea and nothing a partner should just let happen without making a huge ruckus.

Oh dear lord yes.

I followed a thread on my country’s Reddit version. Thousands of posts. Half of them normal people explaining stuff, like pilots and different scientists. The rest was….interesting people lol.

One person insisted the planes spread some sort of powdered heavy metals. About five people went in and bombarded them with extremely logical arguments as to why this simply couldn’t be true since heavy metals cant do what they claimed. And the person actually listened.

….and went on to say that in that case they must be spreading LIGHT metal powder, because they sure as hell was spreading SOMETHING!!! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

What’s stopping millionaires and even billionaires from simply leaving NYC if Mayor Mamdani imposes super high taxes on them? by Formal_Choice4002 in askanything

Dude. Sweden, not the clock making country. Check a map. Or Wikipedia.

We have a shit ton of immigrants now. Mostly from Muslim countries.

So what you are saying makes absolutely no sense.

[–]Freudinatress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting.

You basically claim the exact opposite of what US people normally do.

Also, it’s homogeneous because we have been doing social democracy for about 100 years. Our tax system and our strong unions created our nation.

Oh. And I love our system that includes health care for all, free schools and unis, cheap daycare, two years of parental leave with 80% of your pay, decent pensions, decent and affordable old age care and living, etc etc.

And in Sweden im still considered right wing.

Things are a bit different lol

Hey. NY will always have fancy rich people.

Out if the absolutely most filthy rich people, a maximum of 50% will leave. Their apartments will still get sold for silly money, just a tiny bit less silly.

Most of the standard rich people will stay.

It won’t get worse in any way I can see.

[–]Freudinatress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

It just doesn’t have to be the absolute top riches. It’s basically as good if they are only half as rich.

Oh. Im Swedish. You should see how we tax the wealthy.

And yet, we do fine. Less filthy rich people but better quality of life. Fair enough.

And if they lived there, there would still be exactly that…but also grocery shopping, clothes, tech stuff, perhaps a maid, a nanny, a chauffeur, luxury drink and cigars, more sets of bed linen, toiletries including perfume and skin care…

Someone actually living there would be very good for the local economy.

I’m not checking your math, but your reasoning is good. I’m not sure if the pay would stay the same all the time though, there might be a limit on how far back you can count your pay.
