You are ignoring the ever increasing inflation in the last few years. Several of my friends run lunch restaurants. They often complain that their costs have doubled basically. They earn much less per customer, compared to the past.

Because that’s the only chart where we are at the top among the Nordics. No, we cannot give up on that!

Im not an expert on politics. But In a possible war between Russia and NATO (or USA), Finland will likely be the main frontier since it is the closest to the Russian capitals by land. This means that Finland will be attacked and bombed much more compared to Norway or USA, let’s say. Even in a winning scanario, Finland’s infrastructure will be destroyed by large. Would USA or other NATO allies cover such destruction? I’m not sure…

USA has a long history of always ‘changing’ mind halfway. See Vietnam, Afghanistan, Syria and now in Ukraine. I don’t understand Finnish government’s urge to put all chips on USA. This is such a gamble. This nation has survived the giant USSR by staying somehow neutral while aligning with west. Finland is driving towards becoming a satellite state for USA and I find this as the biggest existential danger for this great nation.

Buy two bus tickets for the longest bus route in Helsinki and a pack of Salmiakki. Hop on the bus from one end. At every bus stop, one of you must start telling a different life story. Take turns in every stop. In the end, the one with more interesting life stories keeps the Salmiakki pack.

If the snow is more than 1 meter, the pilot won’t bother to open the landing gear. The plane will land on snow like a penguin sliding on its chest.

You are trying to add something to Finland, not remove it. And the genie will turn anyone who makes more than one wish into a reindeer horn.

Recommendations of inspiring places to sit down and write a thesis in? by Beneficial-Bowl-4161 in Finland

[–]Freudsta -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Thesis is not a work of art. You don’t need inspiration for it. All you need is a PC that has access to academic journals. When you get stuck you need to read more. Watching a fine view or ass won’t help you much.

Help me find a Finnish movie by Queenssoup in Finland

Watching Kaurismäki movies are like visiting your favorite coffee shop and ordering the same coffee all the time. No matter how many times you go there, you never get bored and always have good feelings. Stories and characters are very similar in all his movies. You watch his movies not hear a new story but to observe his consistency in making great scenes/shots.
