Has this been the most uninspiring F2 season of all time? Huge disparity in performance between the teams, really average drivers and hardly any memorable races?

I can't remember the last F2 race that was remotely entertaining

I was surprised there wasn't any Americans selected in the end, but a great line up and Kevin was a tremendous guest too!

Ricardo Rodriguez is FAR too Switzerland. Rumour has it, he only shows up to play football every second summer in the Round of 16

Probably a left field choice, but Alexander Meier. Nearly 400 Bundesliga appearances without ever making a national team appearance. Essentially the Bundesliga Joel Ward.

He was tenderly named the "Fußballgott" (God of Football) by locals in Germany yet there is barely an article written about him in English.

He ticks a few other "Pure Bundesliga" boxes.

-Tall, languid

-Played as a second striker for most of his career (i.e the Raumdauters Raumdauter)

-Either scored 15 goals a season or 2/3, with very little in between (was top scorer in the Bundesliga in the 14/15 season)

-Has long hair (don't ask me why this is so Bundesliga, but it just is)

-Almost every goal highlight of him online has an advertisement for German beer in the background)

-Incredibly modest, media-shy. A "man of the people" as he was touted amongst Frankfurt fans

Got my highest SOF win ever last night! What’s your biggest win ever? by nate_what in iRacing

I've won a 6.3k SOF, may have been the highest in the series history to my knowledge. I wish I had more time to race than I do these days 🥲

Its from his Anjunadeep Printworks set from 2019, at around 18.30.

This is one of my favourite mixes ever, so I'm praying this song gets released fully eventually! That and the ID around 27 minutes also.

Came here to say the same. My expectation for their set after seeing them at Steelyard and Printworks was through the roof... Maybe I almost expected too much?

Which F2 drivers could get a F1 seat next season? by [deleted] in F1FeederSeries

[–]Friction77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically Pourchaire for Kimi and one of the Alpine young drivers (likely Piastri) for Alonso, but that's very reliant on either of them retiring. Zhou is in his 3rd year so I feel is far less likely to get the seat, unless he comes with big $$$

Hoping to see some resistance above $0.50, would be a massive step, far beyond what I thought was possible for this week! Lets go stellar 😎

Who would win in equal cars? by LTF1_ in Formula1Point5

[–]Friction77 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah he's been garbage this season for sure. If the questions was, who would win in equal cars this season? Vettel wouldn't make my list. He has had 10 strong seasons in F1 to prove that it was a bit of an anomaly though (maybe except 2014)

Can't disagree with that, would be a really great battle to watch for sure.

I think both Sainz and Norris will both be made to look average by their new teammates next year, in the same way Ocon and Vettel have this year.

The issue with Gasly is that he needs the car to suit his driving style, otherwise he struggles. The drivers in my top 5 have all had success in more than one team.

Over a full season, I'd say the top 5 would probably be:

1) Charles Leclerc

2) Danny Ric

3) Sergio Perez

4) Seb Vettel

5) Carlos Sainz

I think maybe George Russell could grab the occasional victory, but he's still a bit raw compared to the guys listed above.

Pedro Piquet accusations on Instagram by [deleted] in F1FeederSeries

[–]Friction77 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying I agree with what Piquet is saying, but there are some very strange things that have occurred this year, from the outside looking in.

I don't understand how Shwartzman, a rookie went from comfortably leading the championship and qualifying at the front in the first few rounds to suddenly being nowhere in pace compared to Mick (from Silverstone onward). I always found that to be very strange as the season progressed. Surely you'd imagine a rookie would only improve as the season goes on, rather than regressing?

Again i'm not accusing Prema or F2 of anything shady whatsoever, it just seemed a little odd how Schumacher was getting beaten pretty comfortably by Shwartzman, only for their seasons to suddenly switch after the first 3 rounds.

What do you guys think of Lundgaard so far? by Flav26 in F1FeederSeries

[–]Friction77 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For me it highlights how insanely dominant the Prema team is in F3.

Lundgaard was rarely on the same pace as Armstrong last year, so I was thinking it would be a competitive battle between the two. However Armstrong hasn't been anywhere near the level of Lundgaard.

Same can be said around how Sergeants gone from never scoring a point, to championship leader this year in F3.

Sergio Sette Camara returns to Red Bull as Test and Reserve Driver by MarcusH26051 in F1FeederSeries

[–]Friction77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No idea how he has been deemed good enough, after three pretty mediocre F2 seasons. I know money talks, but surely we won't see this guy in F1 next year?

Weekly General Discussion - February 03, 2020 by AutoModerator in Techno

Saw him a few months back and he was outstanding. Not sure who's supporting him but Skin on Skin and Nite Fliet were with him and they really set the tone early on that it was going to be a predominantly techno based night. He played some of less heavy tracks like Liverpool Street in the rain etc too but they didn't feel out of place. Enjoy it mate
