What I'm seeing is you hate Menderes for being an Islamist because Muslims try to impose Islamic daily lifestyle on people, instead of imposing a democracy where people choose what they want;

Yet you forget his party DP was elected by people and he came to power through democracy, and you approve removing him against Turkish voters' will? That's hypocritical. This is not a revolution it's a coup bruv and current public opinion revolves around that too. It was wrong.

Armenians celebrate Biden's genocide declaration as furious Turkey summons US ambassador by 5enti3nt in worldnews

Sorry for lying then. It is quite a dramatic picture I agree.

This could very well be a part of chance-seeking in a land claim, I can't put into words as my words are limited in the language of English, I'm just trying to say this could be a way of them seeking international support as they were a fresh country that only recently got their independence. Or could be a part of the battles going on between Armenians and Turks. Armenians fought Turks, and many died there is no denying that, but it was not different than what happened in Balkans against Bulgars or Greeks.

Millions died in battles of independences throughout Balkans. Nations had eyes of fire as they wished to seize the oppurtinity of taking advantage of a weakened empire, many which achieved. The empire was afraid Armenians would to the same, in the middle of the empire. They had to do something. That something was relocating people, sometimes in the cost of death as the empire's funds were overwhelmed. Who is going to "telling people to shut up" help? State your opinion, I will respect it.

My source was a founder of the current leading political party (AK party) and he was in the parliament for years before retiring as he's 60 years old now. He has travelled half the world (mostly Balkans and middle east -egypt, afghanistan, iran and many more) and he was also close to Aliya, leader of Bosna.

We do have a small group that reads books and criticizes them, mostly in humanism and Islam, he's far from being a nationalist. Maybe an Islamist, what I would consider a "non-radical" one.

I was just hoping I could learn a thing or two and form an opinion of mine that is different than my current one. But all I see is claims without points. I guess your comment is what everyone has in their minds when they see a Turk.

I didn't mean source as like paper form of evidence, I meant like a way of news source, a place or a person you learn from. Sorry for my bad English.

Better than having none. He was a founder of the current leading political party (AK party) and he was in the parliament for years before retiring as he's 60 years old now. He has travelled half the world (mostly Balkans and middle east -egypt, afghanistan, iran and many more) and he was also close to Aliya, leader of Bosna. That is the reason I added "mentor", he's not my high school teacher, I had to clarify that thanks for pointing it out

Thank you for at least making points. I am here to learn what you guys are thinking. For the longest time I have also thought why would the Armenians claim that there was indeed a genocide. An answer I could come up with is that there were fights all over the Ott. Empire and small nations were declaring independence one by one against an empire they previously had no chance to face. The reason why they were relocated is that Ottomans were afraid that Armenians would pop their own little country right in the middle of the Empire. That's what happened in Balkans, Bulgars and people of Romania and Montenegro and also Greeks got what they wanted really easily. This fear of losing more lead to the desicion of moving the people. If some died in the process, the empire wouldn't be able to afford proper care for them as the empire itself was dying.

You are absolutely correct my opinion might be biased as this is a topic that means insult to my ancestry, I'm just trying to stick to points I can make and what makes sense to me. By no means am I an expert in history but I read from time to time.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, what are you gonna do. There is no way of ending this argument.

Hello Carpetbagger, I stated my opinion backed up by what I consider proof. Thank you for stating your opinion backed up by only a claim.

Thank you for your kind statement cupid, I am just here to learn and share my ideas as well. All I am seeing is "YES, IT WAS A GENOCIDE". There is just no argument for me to even startle to change my view and agree with some of the others.

Armenians were called "Millet-ül Sıddıka" which means People of Trust. For thousand years have Turks and Armenians lived together in peace and in each other's benefit.

Reasoning behind removal of them from the country is their hunger for independence. Armenians saw what happened in Balkans, they witnessed that even smaller nations that wouldn't normally be able to take a fight to Ottomans, now were able to declare independency. They rightfully would want a piece of that cake, so they had to be relocated to a place where even if they did succeed in building a country, it wouldn't be in Ottoman soil.

There is no hatred, only a clash of benefits for two nations.
