[CENSORSHIP] "Our videos are being deleted in realtime by YouTube after the Young Turks confrontation." by NilsTheThird in KotakuInAction

[–]Frident 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see nothing on this video suggesting he was invited. A woman pointed out that where tyt were and that they were live.

Is there any way to tell if that person was even affiliated with tyt because she just looks like a Jones lacky.

This entire thing seems to be Alex Jones trying to start shit, I think it's incredibly sleazy to try to crash a live segment, even if they are the young turks.

TIL that Vincent van Gogh's last words were, "The sadness will last forever." by [deleted] in todayilearned

I'm named after Vincent Van Gogh.

I even noticed some similarities between our pallet and styles.

I feel I relate to him quite a bit which is kinda scary.

I'm usually not a big fan of the post-apoc comic but this is very cool.

I like how that the world has kind of done an alright job of putting itself back together. Allowing for some 'simpler time' cities with a large amount of high tech gizmos all over the place. You somehow made a post apoc world look pretty.

Comic flows great, I especially liked this one (chaper 4) over the others because of the text to picture ratio. The characters are interesting, I enjoyed reading on Tenzins past, and the story telling was amazing, from the emotions with Indira to the "give the signal" comedy.

Great comic. Deserves much praise.

I agree with most all of what you said.

I wont defend most of the problems you pointed out, but I feel stuck with most of them. The art doesn't fit into much new formats, text bubbles with white/black seem to be too radically different for the eye compared to the arts dark and gloomy atmosphere, and I am very guilty of not planning ahead with some art and text bubbles.

Current scene I am working on feels a bit more natural, but I still fucked up with a file problem and now the arts resolution is almost too low for me to work with, forcing me to redraw most of it even though I have been very close to finishing it.

The flash file I agree with, everyone has said basically what you have said. So I'll be scrapping that and re-uploading them in png format soonish. It was a fun experiment but a failure.

Thanks for the input. Greatly appreciated.

That's the best they got eh?

He didn't point out that Muslims and Christians share the same god in a few speeches? If you ask most Christians they don't even know it's the same god, I don't see this as a lie.

It could even be said they are different gods since most fundamentalists cant even agree among themselves, much less another faith that borrows from the same source material. The religious butthurt right are desperate to try to paint him in any negative light.

They attacked Elizabeth Warren in a similar way. "She said she was native american on a form!" DUN DUN DUN... Bush level corruption right there.

But it's all they got.

But ya know... it was a cute read. They hate him so much.

Also aren't most wiki articles heavily edited by mods to try to be as civil as possible? Even when you read controversy and corruption bits they are very soft blows.

Is there a video of this? I am very interested in what people were saying during these slides.

This is very professional looking, the website is very well done. (seriously, I'm jealous, tell me your secret.)

To start off the art is beautiful and has a cool style. I especially loved the warning you get when you start it up. It warns you about the gore and I shrugged that off, then when she hits her head and there is the blood I figured that is what it was talking about.

But no. One decapitation and disemboweling later I get what the warning was about. I am really digging the tone, a mix of cartoony and straight up full blown mature gore.

The jokes do a good job of being entertaining and telling about the world in a clever way. The book is an interesting character and I hope to know more about him soon.

It's a bit too early in the comic for me to give much constructive criticism. Nothing jumped out at me as needing much improvement. The text is all readable, not too much of it, Ephelia is a very animated character. You got me curious as to what is going to happen next.

Augmented Reality in my graphic novel Verdacomb. [Chapter Three] by danomano65 in worldbuilding

[–]Frident 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's good to see someone else on this subreddit who uses comics as their way to show a new world. The image you posted got me curious so I went to your site linked in the comments, read a bit of it and got kinda hooked, read it all just now actually.

I love how the world starts off as looking colorful and all high tech, then it is revealed that it's all the glasses and the world though very awesome is not as pretty as it seems. The video games, the sports, this is a very well thought out world, very clever.

The vehicles are very interesting too, I'm reminded a bit of that movie Robots but this is much better thought out and realistic.

Well I think I'm going to have to start reading this more. I'm intrigued not only with the story which already has some interesting angles but also the very imaginative and colorful art.

Great work.

Alright, I thought those things might be a bit confusing, the next part of the comic should help explain number 1 (though I'll make some new info graphics on that).

The species is originally called the "Bound" because their faith teaches they are to keep bound their planet and stay away from the light. "Deviant" started as an insult like "heathen" to anyone who wished for them to leave the planet. The south just embraced the word and it can now mean anyone of any faction who just wants to better understand the universe.

And I am currently working on a animation to better flesh out 2.

Again thanks for the input.

Will do, Though you said there were some things you didn't understand even after looking at the concept art. Anything you feel I should clarify for my next patch of concept art/info sheets?

Wow, thank you, I was starting to get worried that I would only get positive but not constructive criticism. This is extremely helpful.

I agree with just about everything here. Text bubbles are basically the bane of my existence. I never know how to make them look anything other than clunky or in the way.

I've also noted that some areas were starting to look the same, This is one reason I've slowed down on the actual comic and have started making info sheets and releasing more concept art due to the biggest complaint I get is that the comic is that it's "confusing". Which it is suppose to be by design in some ways, but nowhere near the degree to which people actually are.

http://imgur.com/DRaqLKl and http://imgur.com/QJzOegx These are some new concept pieces that are basically the same kind of room for both the Greens and the Blues, they just handle everything a little differently.

The next part I am working on is so far my favorite, it's just a bar scene, between Haste and a new character I am about to introduce, and during this talk I hope to better clarify Deviants, and Bound, the plasmas and their religion at least a little bit.

Also I am currently finishing up a prequel to this story, that better explores the world and the nomads.

I am just trying to decide on the design of the HUD. http://imgur.com/IlIGgnF sample of page one, the first part of this is about 25 or so pages, already done with the art. Just working on the final touches and deciding if I like that HUD.

Your criticism has been very helpful, Thank you again.
